I think it might be a matter of what the governor wants, not the president or the mayor.
But sometimes the governor backs down...

Imagine the food and beverage they would get from Louisiana baws
It would be like a giant tailgate and that could serve as a buffer between them and the Tranny Boy Klan

Trump is itching to send federal troops into an American city regardless of how unlawful it may be. No city wants federal troops occupying the city.
Perhaps you and your fellow transgenders can stop causing problems then? What’s wrong with you all?

Was there violence in DC?

“Portland has — among the 68 largest cities in the country — the largest drop in murder rate in the country. It has a 20 percent drop. In fact, it’s been cut in half, 20 percent drop in violent assaults,” Merkley told CNN’s John Berman on “CNN News Central.”
Well, I'm sure then, that you'll greatly appreciate the additional 60% decrease that will come after the mere presence of guys with fatigues and M4s is established.
What I'm seeing across socials, which skew heavily liberal, is that the outspoken voices are divided around 50/50 among Portland residents, with half saying the NG is unnecessary and the other half praising the order because they swear crime is as bad as anything they've ever seen there.
....from what I can tell, it's predominantly minority people struggling just to get through daily life that are dealing with widespread and rampant crime in their neighborhoods that are praising the addition of the Guard, while the basement dwelling anqueefers and hipsters from suburban white gated communities with a Range Rover in every garage, are the ones screaming bloody murder.

Why are the Dems so worried about Trump sending troops to Portland?
Antifa’s home base must be protected.
Dems need to protect their foot soldiers.

The left is inciting violence by misusing msm and ngo funding. It is as simple as that.

Can you explain how it is inciting violence?
I was in the French Quarter after Katrina when the national guard was present. They had guns on them. Didn't make me violent.

I dare you to go take a jog at 2am in Oakland or Los Angeles or Memphis
The OP is a good question, and the above is a fair point. A lot of this is people not trusting his motives. And that lack of trust comes from the way he talks about "the radical Left", which to him includes not just the weirdo Antifas but a lot of normal Democrats. And he seems to think blue states and blue cities are entirely blue, and he only wants to be a President for his supporters. If he could just bring himself--like every other President of my lifetime--to not keep saying he needs to make war on Democrats, that would probably solve half the problem. The other part is that he seems a little bit delusional. The cities aren't that bad; you all are likely seeing cherry-picked videos or whatever, but it's really just parts of the cities. There are easily places in LA or Oakland that you could jog at 2 AM (not familiar with Memphis). San Francisco for sure you could. I'll admit I was in the Tenderloin (one of the worst neighborhoods in SF) over the weekend and thought "I could use a National Guard escort about now", but most of the city is fine. Trump seems to think the whole place is dogshit, which seems delusional. Lastly, using the military is stupid, and potentially illegal. Why not just fund more police? People affected by violence probably would appreciate that.

The presidential duties are to defend, protect and preserve the American people he serves, as defined in the constitution. If the governor of a state drops that ball, then he leaves it open to the president to do so lawfully

Some do. You know how I know? Because they refuse to stop their constituents from laying siege to a federal building. They've had years to solve this problem, but they chose to stand in solidarity with them.

If Landry lets Trump send troops to Louisiana, he’s done in this state. We ain't perfect but we dont need the federal government telling us what to do.

Why haven’t they visited any red cities/states that are in dire need and more welcoming?
