Why are less men (on average) participating in the workforce

where did all the men go
prime age men not in work force
There is a noticeable trend with a lack of men in the workforce. I know most of you want to be in a GOP bubble. The truth is thst this problem can undermine the American dream that many conservatives are supporting.
What do you think the Trump Administration should do. Its very obvious that manufacturing can't be maintained even if he brings it back. People have to adapt and change with the market.

America’s declining male labor-force participation rate is not typical of modern Westernized societies. While there has been some decline in the postwar prime male labor-force participation rate in all of them, the flight from work has been more extreme in America than in almost any other economically advanced democracy. Today, America is 22nd out of 23 in prime-age male labor-force participation, underperformed only by Italy.

But the private sector is shifting toward work that has historically been done by women. There are four occupations expected to add more than 100,000 jobs in the next decade: personal care aides, home health aides, medical secretaries, and marketing specialist.
Perhaps the United States needs some sort of massive national building project to put these men back to work in jobs that they would be proud and willing to do. The promises of Donald Trump to the contrary, the United States is not poised to bring back manufacturing jobs.
But what about construction jobs?
Several weeks ago, Conor Sen, a portfolio manager and a columnist at Bloomberg View, wrote a widely shared essay predicting that housing would become the dominant economic story of the next five years. Sen worried that it would be hard to find enough workers (mostly men, since construction employment is about 90 percent male) to build the requisite number of houses. After all, construction skews young and less educated, and the U.S. is getting older and more educated. "If we had to find 500,000 construction workers tomorrow, from a math standpoint it would be impossible," he wrote. "The slack isn’t there.”
But the slack is there. Millions of able-bodied men have dropped out of the labor force, mostly because they have stopped looking for work. Many of them badly need to leave their neighborhoods in Appalachia, the Rust Belt, and the Deep South, where the rate of non-working men often hovers around 40 percent.

I thought "gender" was a bad thing to base things on.
Can I get a ruling as to whether it is appropriate to use gender specific pronouns in a "worker" discussion?
Aren't we supposed to just say "____% of people are working" and leave it at that?
I just do not want to be sky-screamed at.
TIA

Sorry about the length. I tried to scale it down.

Because all of the CEO’s and upper management for the O&G operators feel that they are not diverse enough and thus hire 90% women in a 90% male dominated industry.
Ya I’m butt-hurt, working at a service company with a masters aggravates me. But I’m not diverse nor female.
Maybe a gender identity change is in order.

We have millions of healthy Americans of working age who are not working. Many are living on government entitlements.
At the same time we have this asinine push from Prog/Dims/ to open the borders for unfettered immigration.

Less manufacturing and way more jobs that require advanced degrees. I'll be the first to admit the smartest 3-4 people in my graduating class were girls. 2 work for Exxon and 1 for BASF making cheddar. Not sure that the other one does.

Because more and more, are being raised by women. All touchy feely.
For any male kid out there who reads this: If your life isn't brutal, then you are doing it wrong.
Spend as much time with your Dad and his Dad(your Grandad) as possible.
oh,but when you have daughters, like I do,be the sweetest thing on earth around them.
When my littelst one asks about my scars and stuff,I tell her it's because I am part leapard then I grab her and kiss her and gnnaw at her little belly, until her laughing gets old, then it's time for me to find something productive to do.

There are only a certain number of jobs created in the economy every year. The same thing is true of seats at universities, graduate schools, and professional schools. When you go from a society where female labor participation goes from single or low double digits to over 50%, it is a natural consequence that men will be pushed out, with the most capable men being excluded from college/professional school/the Fortune 500/etc based on gender with a resulting cascading effect downstream.

Currently it's the land of opportunity for women to act like men.
Political correctness run amok.
I was watching the basketball game game last night where one of the Loyola players hugged the postgame female interviewer and she was taken aback and made a comment. She said something to make her sound victimized, to a degree. The young man apologized for hugging her after winning the ball game and being excited.
Fear of legal liability.
Fear of women's reprisal.
Fear of rejection.

Smart men, modern men find a bright, attractive, strong woman. Make her laugh, keep her happy. Send her out to earn $$$ on Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) contracts.

it's 2 parts, at the top and bottom of the labor pool
at the bottom, we do a lot less third world level labor, so those easy jobs that don't require a lot of skill or intelligence aren't nearly as available as they were when the US was rebuilding the world and Western Europe was still only 15-20 years out of WWII
at the top, we've feminized public education so much that there is a huge skew towards females going to (and even moreso, graduating from) college. fewer men in college = fewer labor pool at the "top"
those 2 are objectively true
there is a theoretical argument that moving to more of a service economy has also skewed towards women, because over a large number of jobs it plays to their communication/verbal intelligence advantages. however, at they super duper teeny top, men still dominate b/c those rare positions require more psychopathy and raw analytical intelligence, plus the requirement to basically work yourself to death

this applies but i think most of those people are in that "lowest level" tier that don't really have lucrative opportunities regardless

Student loan policies have extended the "rights of passage" known as college to 6 or 8 years.
Student loan policies have inflated "education" requirements.
Emphasis on women to college and in workplace reduce the total number of males that can enter workforce.
Men can stay at home while their mom or girlfriend or wife works.
Men are sucking up federal benefits.
Masculinity crisis spurred by rampant, government sponsored feminism, HS and Collegiate marxist indoctrination and cheap student loans that enable it, anti masculine media propaganda.
Workforce analysis flawed, doesn't properly account for those working in the secondary market or black market/internet.
I dunno, those came to mind as possible causes
