Why are conservatives so prone to believing conspiracy theories?

I am a conservative but some of the ridiculous conspiracy theories posted on this site and social media are just cringeworthy. They really paint us in a bad light. I know people will respond with "Russian collusion" but that was so
widely reported by the MSM you can kind of see how liberals who hate Trump would believe it.

Don't just stop there. All the fake hate crimes. The Kavanaugh stuff. There's a never ending list of wishful thinking libs run with.

Lack of education, awareness and I imagine most of the folks on this board are senile.

There are just as many stupid people on the Right as there are on the Left. Think of it as a bell curve.

Like Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election? why was it so? Explain, please because I don't think there has ever been a bigger conspiracy theory that has been completely been debunked yet many still believe.

It used to not be this way.

But since the 90s, our traditional society/values have been upended, and deep down we know it was our elected officials who we blindly trusted.

Believing conspiracies help us cope/try to understand what the heck actually happened.

But what it also does, is make us docile. Like all the Q people. They believe these crazy "plans" etc, and when they should be out protesting/rioting/etc, they instead just hangout on the web and complain and think Trump is going to solve/do everything for them.

It's sad.

Is there suddenly a lack of conspiracies? The entire Professional Left and all their cultural and political agitations, are by definition a conspiracy. Are you not aware of these ?

Why would you believe anything the government or media tells you? After you've been lied to countless times by evil people, how do you know what's true and what isn't?

So you believe the conspiracy that 2 million will die in the states of the virus? Yeah, I don't either so your premise in your post that we tend to believe the conspiracy theories falls flat on its face.
