Unfortunately the modern republican electorate looks a lot like the democratic electorate of 20 years ago. They judge their leaders by their entertainement value rather than their record and accomplishments.

No, it's a natural gravitation towards shows of strength, just like with the DeSantites. Trump comes off as strong, as do Ron and Kari. If we can be honest here, it's a valid measure. That's why the meek ones always fizzle out in the primaries, unless they promise a Kamala Harris Lewinsky to James Clyburn to get the South Carolina blacks to fall in line.
