How many times have we heard from the GOP "Give us the House. We'll get things done!" We gave the the House. Nothing got done. Then it was "We need the Senate in addition to the House. Give us the Senate plus the House and we'll get things done!" We gave them the Senate in addition to the House. Nothing got done. Then it was "Give us the White House. We'll get things done!" We gave them the White House and nothing got done. In fact, they went out of their way to sabotage what came from the White House. The Republicans woes cannot be laid at the feet of Donald Trump; they have themselves to blame for the malaise they're now in.

They exist to raise money for the next campaign.

If they get things done, their base is happy, and campaing funds dry up.

Remember when the house members were openly stating "well we know our constituants probably want jim jordan but we know whats best in spite of their wishes"

ALL of these people LOATHE you. They want your money and your taxes, period.

That's your answer.

I disagree. Whether of not if you believe that Trump is the right guy. I believe that most of the GOP supporters say 50% and most independents do not want politics as the status quo. They do not want a system where both sides noth take off the top to enrich themselves.

And that is what most Americans now see as the issues with not only the Democrats, but also several people in the Republican party. They are beholden to special interest.

Take immigration....Neither side wants a change. Bog Business loves immigration. They love more people needing houses, more people needing goods, food, services and so on.

IMO it is the GOP that is doing so. Most people don't pay attention to politics until the conventions roll around. people watch the GOP convention, listen to conservative this, and conservative that, and what conservatives the republican party is, then the people give them some power and all the sudden they are squishy, capitulating punching bags.

They don't. They are quite literally what they rail against - low information and overly emotional voters. Just like liberals.

Self inflicted

This is the correct and only answer.

People on here still trying to pretend that the GOPe is something other than simply the controlled opposition wing of the Establishment Uniparty.

They don't want to win. They simply want to cast the illusion of resistance while slowly, deliberately and proficiently advancing the agenda of the Uniparty.

That is exactly what I was going to say. A united GOP is their nightmare. The MSM (Lying media) would push for WW III if the GOP were united!!

Answer is Trump.

Name one thing he’s tried to do to unify Republicans.

Trump could have formed his own party and taken 15-40% of republicans with him not long ago. Probably still could, but the percentages would be lower.

IMO it’s the news network run by foreigners, the Murdochs and Fox News. They are doing terrible damage to the GOP.

The RNC and Fox News. The Republican party is swampy as hell and Fox News is their propaganda arm. Fox has to report what the Republican leadership tells them to report or their news sources will dry up. People like Tucker Carlson and Dan Bongino pissed of the Republican establishment and were cut loose.

The Republican establishment is interested in power and money, not the truth. Same with the Democrat establishment. Republicans talk big about cutting spending, but in the end, they always go along with the Democrats. More spending is something the Republicans, Democrats, and their respective donors ALL agree on. More government money needs to be spent...

Nah, you're emotion driven morons like most dems.

Bloomberg? Ha Ha but the point being Trump hardly knew any of those people, and many of his picks were recommended to him by people he had no idea were working against him. Especially in 2016. In fact if you still believe this is a republican democrat issue go ahead keep your head up Trump's azz. We really don't need stupid people.

So you're worried about the source in this instance? You don't think that fact could be easily verified using dozens of other sources? Total fricking clown world you're living in if you're pulling the "source" card on this one.

This! Them being the minority party is great for fundraising...until those contributing finally catch on and quit contributing. Which is exactly what's happening to the Republican Party. Trump's not the problem; he's the scapegoat.
