Jackie Gleason "The Great One".

Funny story, when he negotiated for "The Honeymooners" sitcom, the far and away most popular show on television, he requested a monster deal. Pay raises for everyone and his pay would go from 10K per episode to 65K, when he was already one of the highest paid, it was an absurd request, but worth it cause the studios, and Buick the lead sponsor were getting filthy rich off him.

So the agent says he picks up The Great One and he has been partying all night, we walk into the conference room with about 20 lawyers accountants. Do all the intros then we get down to it, I lay out the numbers and there are gasps, guffaws, and I am looking at the head of the studio. He says, well if he is that unconcerned (he nods to The Great One) he must know he has the leverage, its a deal write it up.

I look over to see what the studio head meant......and The Great One....is asleep.

Classic.

Trucks have to file paperwork based on weight.

I'm surprised it wasn't Colt 45. I remember all those Billy Dee Williams commercials. Lol

Schlitz is good. I would see it and hamms tall boys occasionally and get them but it’s been a while so it may be gone forever

We sell beer by the pound now?

It was an 18 wheeler, whoever wrote the article went with the cargo weight listed. I guess they didn’t want to do the math.

After doing the math, it was about 1300 cases or 13 pallets of beer. That’s 31,250 beers, just enough for a frat party in the 80’s.

If you can’t enjoy an icy cold PBR after mowing the lawn or a long run, I’m not sure what to tell you.

That’s one truckload of beer, not exactly a big heist

IMHO, one cannot "steal" beer. Beer belongs to Humanity-at-Large. Beer is a Gift from the Heavens. You can't "steal" a metaphysical substance like "beer".

This argument for the Defense might work in California.

Beer snob. Free beer is good beer.

A couple of my friends in high school stole 40 cases of Miller Highlife from a box car in the spring of 78. The summer got to a great start.

Maybe it was 1.88. I just remember the 88 I remember it being ridiculously cheap. It was at the Albertsons on Essen and Perkins, probably around 2000A.D.

In my drinking days, PBR was the most underrated beer.
