What makes any of you think that any of the countries listed, many of which have beaten the shite out of Russia in years past, are in any need of our help to begin with?

Or that our pledge to help doesn’t actually make them complacent and not as prone to prepare for defense?

And Estonia, Czech, and Austria.

The rest are limp-wrist atheist socialists that couldn't break their way out of a wet paper bag.

Let me just list off the countries we’re pledging to protect that have beaten the Russians in war at some point in the last 200 years:

Poland
Germany
Lithuania
Austria/Hungary/Czechs
Finland (arguably)

But by all means, we must defend these defenseless countries!

Well, by treaty, all of NATO member states, since I served with them in Iraq and Afghanistan, and other places around the world.
Then there were all theses countries that supported the mission but weren’t NATO members like Macedonia.
Where did most of you guys serve?

Far be it from me to question our undying commitment to defend the Netherlands with the full night of our forces and people, since they sent a battalion to Afghanistan for a few years.

Screw them. They can use some of that nationalized oil money (just over $1tr) to pay for their own defense. They are still sub 2% GDP in defense spending.

This question is absolutely irrelevant and irks me to no end. John McCain served his country and would gladly send thousands of Americans to their deaths to make his political donors rich.

And as for NATO, conservative Constitutionalists opposed its creation because they feared the collective defense provision usurped Congress's ability to declare war. They were right. The only question we should ask before going to war is if the physical security of the United States and its citizens are in imminent danger.

Have worked with a lot of Poles and Hungarians and have the same experience. Genuinely like and appreciate the US and conservative values. Explanation is simple to me. While Western Europe was embracing socialism for the past 70 years, Eastern Europe was experiencing actual, true racism and oppression under the Russians. As a result, they still “get it” and realize how precious their new found freedom is. Like the millineals here, this is so taken for granted by Western Europe that they must degrade it and believe there must be “something better”. Human nature at work.

The same question could be asked about Israel and South Korea too.

Say what you want about the Jews or the ROK - but those motherfrickers are willing to put their money where their mouths are and have NEVER backed away from defending themselves.
