Just get rid of the EPA.

Yeah, and void your dealer warranty.
DEF does nothing beneficial for your truck and the EGR is destructive to your vehicle.

A bill prohibiting agencies from restricting the production of products without express approval from congress would be a huge boon to the economy, bring down costs and make everyone happy.

It allows the engine to meet tier 4 NOx requirements with little to no EGR. Its actually a pretty damn excellent system.

Also, go back to R 22 for refrigerant.

Agree.
I’m a sedan driver, and I really miss the option of naturally aspirated 6 cylinders.
In the 2000s, just about every make, mainstream and luxury, offered NA 6s in their sedans.
Lexus is just about the only player left here in 2025, and the new 2026 ES is ditching that buttery smooth V6 entirely for hybrid and EV options only.

Hybrids aren't terrible for runaround cars. The wife's (no pics) accord is very nice, seats 5 and gets 50mpg around town for just over $33k.

Yeah I’m not anti-hybrid or anti-EV at all, I just miss the option for a NA V6.
Toyota’s and Nissan’s in particular were very, very good.

So. The warranty is shite.

Delete it.

CAFE standards forced Toyota to go to a 4 cylinder turbo on Tacoma's. No thanks, I bought a Nissan Frontier 6 cylinder instead. And those standards are now biting GM on the arse, the 8 cylinder 6.2L's are exploding...check out Rainman Ray on YT. He claims GM has been using too light an oil for years to meet mileage requirements and it's now coming back to GM in spades...replacing engines per the latest Service Bulletin. That'll hurt.

It’s ridiculous to have whole lines of reliable and fuel efficient platforms disappear because of stupid bullshite standards. Let the market decide.

This is the unseen and mostly unspoken of cost of our modern method of governing via countless EOs. Even when a conservative like Trump fixes old EOs that are bad it still comes with a cost of refitting to do things the old way and a lot of times due to that cost producers never will and that's IF a D doesn't show up in less than 4 years and force them back
It's all very fricked
This shows how ineffective the Supreme Court has become. They are the main check on Executive Power and they have rolled over and showed their bellies time after time. If they had started slapping down Obama and his "pen", we'd be much better off.

Sorry it won’t happen. It would cost 100’s of millions to retool factories. What happens in 3 years if a D gets elected again.
How does this get 36 downvotes? Oh yeah, this board is populated by retards.

Honestly, it’s a little shocking he hasn’t. It’s not the highest of highest priorities, but one would think this would a perfect shot across the bow of the global warming crowd.

So did the Big Beautiful Bill address CAFE standards at all? Or is there other forthcoming legislation that does so?

Kind of,. They didn’t eliminate it, but they made the penalty $0.00 so there’s no penalty for not meeting the cafe standards

The BBB already effectively did that

In 2007 I bought a new 2007 Chevy classis LS. Now has 250,000 miles and engine doesn't use/leak oil. 4L60E has has 3 transmission flushes through the years. Still my daily driver. No GM built truck today is that solid.
2005 Tahoe 4.8 322K+
Started at 200K+ using ATP AT 205 RE-SEAL in engine oil, transmission, power steering. It’s apparently working well. No issues. Flushed and replaced the transmission fluid once a few years back.
Eventually the body is going to fall apart around the engine and transmission. It’s a great engine/transmission package.
