Adjusted for inflation, $2.65 in 1978 (when the minimum wage was that in Louisiana) is the equivalent of $14.16 today. The TOTAL cost of attending LSU was about $1800/year for in-state students. You could easily make that working part-time bagging groceries for minimum wage over the summer/on weekends.

There would be a 50 page nuclear meltdown on here if Louisiana passed legislation enacting a $14 minimum wage or if they capped the total cost of attending LSU at $4900/year for in-state students.
School was definitely cheaper. No question.
However, salaries were significantly lower as well.

For example, I had the opportunity to attend college anywhere. But my folks were stretched to support me at LSU. Harvard was 15x LSU. Baylor was a little more than half that. Could I have gotten loans ... of course. It would have been as crushing as for some today, so I chose to go another route.

I ended up doing 2yrs undergrad on my parents dime at LSU, then I nailed a USAF scholly to pay for Med School in exchange for a 4-yr obligation to serve the USAF.

I never regretted one second of the pay back. There was never any penis envy for my classmates whose folks paid their way, or for some other gen that may have been better positioned than was mine. It was just a matter of making the best of the hand I was dealt.

The same USAF 4-yr deal is available today. Let's repeat that, the same 4y-for-4y military scholarship is available for students today. Cost of education be damned.

Bottomline: Figure it out.

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t care what hand you were dealt. Make it happen.

Your intelligence is showing. How in the world are boomers responsible for how the government has fleeced the nation for the last 150 years? Power and money steers everything, even to the detriment of the peasants.

You know what I’m arguing you just can’t accept the fact that your generation failed

All the things I listed on the previous page - boomers aren’t responsible for them then who is?

50% of millennials weren't 30 by 2021

You’re right. Millennials were older. Millennials were born from 1981 to 1996, which means by 2021 most of them were already 30 or well past it. This isn’t controversial math… unless counting past 29 is where things start to get too abstract for some folks.

Also millennials have advanced degrees more than any other generation in history

Obviously not in mathematics.

Good Lord!
I've noted Critical Thinking several times in this thread.

You are a perfect case in point, as to its lack in current engagement.

Why should any human take accountability for anyone except themselves and their own actions?
What you are asking for is a form of verbal reparations.

Baby boomers are in the twilight years.
Often the term “Boomer” is used for anyone who is older.

But when millennials start taking aim at Gen Xers, they really get a beat down…

You do realize the same amount of people aren’t born every year - so you have millennials born in 6 of the 15 years and more people were born in the US every year from 90-96 than from 81-89 - some years 500k more plus if you add in increased immigration you would see how they came up with figure

If you truly were born in 78, your parents did a horrible job. The answer to your question is NEVER, because they shouldn't and don't have to. Quit being a weak minded fool. The individual population had nothing to do with any of those policies.

Why doesn't your generation go and take it from them then? If GenX is such a bunch of pussies, it should be easy to do. Weak arse bitch.

All this thread has revealed is irrefutable prove you're a whiny bitch. Instead of blaming others get out there and fight for the preservation of the constitutional republic.

My mom's parents were in their 90s when they passed away. My grandma was very active until she hit 90.

My dad's parents didn't live as long. My grand dad was in his late 70s and my grandma's was in her 80s.

My mom lived until 94 and my dad was 82.

I doubt I'll live as long as my mom.
