He doesn't. His argument is little more than Leftist drivel. You shouldn't encourage him.

Adjusted for inflation, $2.65 in 1978 (when the minimum wage was that in Louisiana) is the equivalent of $14.16 today. The TOTAL cost of attending LSU was about $1800/year for in-state students. You could easily make that working part-time bagging groceries for minimum wage over the summer/on weekends.
There would be a 50 page nuclear meltdown on here if Louisiana passed legislation enacting a $14 minimum wage or if they capped the total cost of attending LSU at $9600/year for in-state students.

quote:You can blame lack of housing on Democrats. Democrat run cities have created a housing shortage because they refuse to fight crime so people that can, leave neighborhoods in transition. There are thousands of abandoned homes in Jackson, which is not a large city, due to crime. So you force people to leave and they go to the suburbs where housing is way more expensive because we require our city leaders to keep us safe and to ensure our properties retain or increase their value.
Younger people are increasingly asking when baby boomers will take responsibility for the mess they left behind.
To be fair, boomers built the strongest economy in the world by far,
Boomers parents built the strongest economy in the world and then the boomers took the reins culminating in the 2008 crash when millenials stepped in and saved the economy
Millenials are the greatest generation. Boomers are the participation trophy generation. They went to college for free and got a good job by shaking the bossmans hand then they got a 6k house
Less than 30% of Boomers have a college degree. The median home price in 1970 was $24k the median household annual income in 1970 was less than $9k

Boomers were the largest Perot bloc.
Because they were the largest bloc period
lets just look at white male then since that what most people on this board are and are the most normal people in the country as whole
1992 White male boomers supported Bush with lots supporting Clinton
1996 Dole had a little white male boomer support over Clinton
2016, 2020, and 2024 white male millennials supported Trump each time
So who was making smart decisions in pivotal elections in this country and that generations life?

Boomers voted for Trump at a +10% and if I dig deeper I would bet male Boomers voted Trump over 60% if not higher.

Millennials: 33% owned a home by age 30, despite the favorable market thru 2021.
50% of millennials weren't 30 by 2021
also marriage age which leads to age when having kids all play a role when someone buys a home - the younger the generation the later they are getting married and having kids
Also millennials have advanced degrees more than any other generation in history - staying in school longer delays home purchase for most people

I am not reading 12 pages so can you reply to this post with the top 10 things that Boomers need to be accountable for?

Same issue in my family, then they can’t pay their monthly note for one reason or another and want mommy and daddy to pay for it! That generation has little to no work ethics and dedication to their employer! You reap what you sow, this has nothing to do with the baby boomers! Speaking of which, if there is one attribute “ they have it is definitely EXCUSES! They are extremely good at that. Your choices in life effect your future.
Employers have no dedication to their workers either. That has to be a 2 way street.

quote:again what are you talking about? Not one millennial I know, doesn't own a home.
Stereotypically, Millennials shirked that opportunity, uniquely opted to not "get tied down" with house notes, and instead to spend their money on "experiences" ... nice restaurants, parties, cool vacations.

What point are you trying to make? Is it Boomers are to blame for all that ails the US?
My suggestion is, share your hate/dislike for Boomers with your parents or grandparents. Talk to those Boomers you know and let them know how you feel and think about them.

Screw that! A boomer here, I worked my arse off all my life, finally retired. Do you think money woes just go away when you retire? Not every boomer has some outrageous sized retirement, that is a fallacy. I have talked to many fellow boomers who have lost their homes, can't afford the upkeep! My younger wife is 64, still works, because she knows we need the money and kids and grandkids keep thinking we are here to bail them out of all their mistakes!
And the biggest mess I see is young fools who keep voting Democrap! Which of course means more and more taxes for social benefits, not to help the aged, but illegals and minorities! Why don't they tax welfare benefits? Why was social security ever taxed? I have no pity toward younger pople, no one said life was going to be easy.

I listed the things they were to blame for in a previous post
Also the point is they had the chance to change the course of this country in 2 political elections in the prime of their life as the largest voting bloc and failed to do so
The majority of boomer white men didn’t even vote for the candidate with the best policies
I tell my dad and father in law this all the time

When are people going to get it.
Boomers didn’t pass the shite laws that are killing our country the greatest and silent generation did
Baby Boomers didn’t even become the majority in Congress until 1998
They didn’t become the majority in the Senate until 2009
