Seems like it’s ok now to pick and choose what we “trust” from the cdc now right?

The CDC has shown themselves to be deep state. I don't believe much of anything they say.

The CDC has given a lot of conflicting info about corona. I take anything they say with a grain of salt.

When the propaganda from CDC spokesmen contradicts the information they've been posting and are posting for the last 20 years, it's time to question them.

After they had heavy involvement in the testing failure early on in the outbreak.

The thing that gets me is the Germans already had a functioning testing system, but US health agencies decided they wanted to do something different and then failed in the rollout.

The CDC has now taken every position on every health issue. I think you’d have to be a next level follower to not be really, really skeptical of any of their public policy pronouncements. And of course WHO is far worse.

After president Trump is re-elected, he needs to clean house on several of his departments, including the CDC.

I'm seeing this from the left a lot.

CDC reports something that can be viewed as positive regarding Corona. "OMG lulz Trump propaganda. Trump has destroyed the CDC's credibility. Russia!"

CDC reports something concerning that conflicts with past guidance which causes free thinking folks to questions it. The left: "Trust the experts you Trump cult redneck!"

"THE cdc"
"THE fbi"
THE government"
"THE hoa"

Just because a group of humans are put in a position and the collective group is referred to as some "THE ___ (group name)" does not remove their inherit human foibles. It is why I want the LEAST "governing" that can possibly be done.

Yes, I "trust" people that specialize in a given field to know more about that field and I take their opinions seriously. But, I will NEVER blanket trust a group of HUMANS to be unwaveringly correct. The over-politicized nature of this virus reaction is a major reason why this is particularly true now.

i mean... the CDC told us not to wear masks because they didn't work, just so we didn't cause a supply shortage for healthcare.

i'm not saying that i don't understand the desire to protect the supply lines, but acting like the CDC won't lie to us is not exactly a crazy thing.

When they lied to the American Public, intentionally and repeatedly for reasons that could only logically be political.

This, but I don't necessarily fault them for it. The virus was either unknown or didn't exist a year ago. It takes time to figure some things out. It is unreasonable to expect otherwise.

Therefore a healthy sense of skepticism is warranted. Not nut-job conspiracy theory level skepticism but more a "trust but verify" level.
