Too high? What would you cut it to?

Just right?

Too low? What would you raise it to?

I'd cut it by 10% every year until the pentagon doesn't have enough money to worry about racism and trannies.

Start by automatically cutting it in half and then figure out where to cut.

But...but...We can't really feel 110% safe without beefing up the Patriot Act, financing military aircraft flying over our head once ever .002s seconds, and maintaining military bases in 750 countries across the planet (oops -- the Gaza Base will make 751), can we?

That $842B doesn't even include the (undisclosed) Non-White Budget either.

So let's just pay the Piper and continue feeling safe and free from The Baddies.

Probably could be cut by half

-Cut out pointless travel for meetings, my mom does travel for MSIC at Redstone, they send people all over the world for pointless meetings that could be emails or zoom
-Cut out the spend or lose money mindset, no need for new office equipment every year just to spend the budget money. Incentivize departments to save and not spend money
-Cut military bureaucrat workforce by 20%
-Cut out all non-essiential initiatives, no gender crap, no DEI, no gay pride, just military training and excellience

If you took a careful look at what that money is going to, you could probably cut it in half.

Start with cutting foreign military aid...

Close 90% of our overseas bases, potentially consolidate some...

GTFO of the Middle East...

Tell Israel they can support themselves...

0% until a complete and accurate audit was provided. After that they can have 50% with a 5% year over year cut for the next 8 years.

We could probably stand to lose a few of these.

Double the next budget of any world power, puts us at 150B and cancels 600B that we now print

Defense spending by the top 3 nations are

U.S. 877Bn

China 293 BN

Russia 86.4 BN

We could cut ours in half and still be well ahead of the next two combined. They’ll have us think cutting this spending would weaken us. It wouldn’t. We could cut it to 500BN and combined with our NATO allies still be far above any other military capability in the world

And in the event of a major war we could ramp it up if necessary. But this level of spending is unnecessary in what is a general peacetime outside of the Ukraine and Israel wars, which we are not directly involved in outside of some weapons/funding and logistical support

Could you imagine trying to audit $842,000,000,000?

That's a pretty good metric, unfortunately with current leadership, the lower bound may be $0.

All of these points make too much sense.

You start by auditing the obvious...

IE programs that do nothing for readiness...

Weapons programs...

Then move on from there... There is obvious waste, fraud, and abuse that could easily be cut... Anyone that has served has seen it and could point it out...
