What would Trump have done differently with Brittney Griner if he was still President?

I don't think the Ukraine-Russia war would be happening as Trump wouldn't have been trying to get Ukraine to join NATO. Trumps battle would have been with the military industrial complex and preventing uneccessary wars in the first place.
That being the case, Griner would not be as valuable to Putin as she is now. To sum it up, Griner would have been released a long time ago, if she was even arrested in the first place...

Probably could have gotten her freed. Definitely would have been told it's actually a terrible thing she was freed because it showed Trump really didn't care about her and only used her to make himself look good and as an excuse to give his buddy Putin something.

If there is no war in Ukraine, Trump would have had a full arsenal of sanctions that he could have used against Russia. Because of the war Biden has used all the sanctions in his quiver, and Biden has no more leverage to use against Putin for Griner. Griner isn't worth the money Putin would have lost for hanging on to her in peacetime.

Trump would have gotten Griner back without trading anything, I can almost guarantee it. He'd have flown over there like a boss, go talk with Putin and flown back with her.
That was the thing about a non-politician we needed. It wasn't about official state visits or all this mumbo jumbo bullshite. He just did stuff and worked it out.

There wouldn’t have been a war under Trump because Trump wouldn’t have put up with it. It’s not about NATO, it’s about Putin trying to reclaim what he thinks belongs to Russia. He feels he can make his moves under weak leadership like we have right now. That’s why he did it now.
