The mayor is an idiot. A full on idiot. Even Nagin wasn’t that big of an idiot. She is an idiot.

She’s cancelling all events with crowds until 2021?

I like New Orleans. I like the restaurants. I have family and friends there. I have lived there and loved it.

Someone please explain to me what other economic basis for survival New Orleans has besides restaurants, bars, tourism, and Ports, all of which literally require people from different places congregating.

It has no industry that I can identify. It doesn’t farm anything. It doesn’t build anything.

For the last 4-5 yrs, Bourbon Street moved from
It’s charming weird quirky grossness to just flat out terrifying to be on. What is going to happen when all discernible economic activity comes to halt? I seriously don’t understand how it will remain possible to earn a living in New Orleans after this.

This is idiotic, and it’s suicidal. What are my N’awlis Baws gonna do?

because at this point there appears to be no discernible difference btwn the two, and Haiti may actually diminish its property value by assuming the liability of how shitty New Orleans is operated.

That mayor y’all. She’s terrible.

Kind of hard to rescind when it takes thousands of people to put on these events.

I don’t know what’s going to happen to the city, but I’ve been an advocate for blowing up the Causeway and the Twin Spans since 2004.

She’s not going to have much choice.

If the NFL gives the ok for the season to proceed as usual and the Saints play in the Dome, all of these other large events are going to give her the big anyway.

New Orleans is destined to become Baltimore.

There’s no stopping it because the people keep electing one idiot after another.

Based on what?

Look. I really do love NOLA but people who live there think that the world drops off outside of Orleans Parish. And oftentimes have difficulty seeing and acknowledging the problems - that even people like me who love the City point out.

I have seen no evidence that the Moronic Mayor, and a completely corrupt city government and court system that operate in Orleans Parish either wants to change or will. It is so sad. So very sad. And worse, despite the fact that most New Orleans people couldn’t find Lafayette, Shreveport or Lake Charles on a map- New Orleans looks to these places to bail them out of the dysfunction it created and refuses to resolve.

So seriously- what makes you think this idiot is even capable of rescinding this moronic declaration, bc she’s even capable of realizing how economically and culturally detrimental this is to the city? Isn’t she not even from there? And regardless of if she grew up there she has repeatedly shown that she DGAF about the productive members of the city she allegedly runs.

(1) An enormous amount of public pressure

(2) Someone with half a brain in City Hall showing her the revenue New Orleans will lose.

The citizens will have to sit on street corners and drum on plastic buckets for spare change!

She has repeatedly shown she DGAF what economically productive people think. I seem to recall her campaigning on it. Plus. My God. The way she reacted to the whole Hard Rock thing was also problematic. Public Pressure doesn’t affect her.

She DGAF about people who earn revenue. She has no one that does working for her.
