If the NFL gives the ok for the season to proceed as usual and the Saints play in the Dome

If she says no events with crowds and cancels them all, wouldn't that include the Saints?

I imagine the NFL would just move the Saints home games to a different city like after Katrina if they were the lone team with a psycho mayor.

It has no industry that I can identify. It doesn’t farm anything. It doesn’t build anything.

It is a international port, the river is lined with chemical plants, and a huge, refinery, International airport, huge amounts of air freight move through the NO airport, NASA/Michod, lots of medical research, shipyards, small and large scale manufacturing of many types, corporate headquarters for many large companies, home offices of major law firms, on, and on. They could cancel all the festivals, and permanently close the French Quarter and NOLA would survive just fine.

I think the uptown, white bourgeoisie who bankrolled her campaign will talk some sense into her.

Conventions....normally very important to the city.

Yeah, idiot mayor trumpeting that gatherings are so unsafe we have to cancel them will do wonders to sell N.O. as a convention venue. And maybe, just maybe, it’s possible that conventions choose New Orleans bc there are fun things to do like festivals.

Please, tell me how your town is indispensable to this state. I think this is one area that this board gets it completely wrong. NOLA is your economic engine, like it or not.

Then the political class is faced with a unique opportunity to stop playing identity politics in the city and for the state to get serious on reforming the tax code and the education system

China can purchase the city for pennies on the dollar.

I'm sure it's been stated already so, no Saints home games? Yeah, that'll go over real good.

Mother Nature tried to facilitate but noooooooo-we have a need to resuscitate

I'd imagine her Port to be the touchstone from an industry perspective

I can imagine a full on march at the Dome going into Drew’s final home game if she’s still serious about not letting any fans in

New Orleans has made 99% of its money on crowds of one sort or another for the last 200 years.
Latoya the NOLA Destroya is the perfect name for her.

A tourism town without tourists was going to be in trouble no matter what. She’s stupid enough to want to extend that.

NOLA has made 99% of its money from port traffic, and ship building since the mid 1800s, tourism brings a lot of money, but it is no where near the foundation of the New Orleans economy that so many think it is.
