It’s funny how the world puts more emphasis on ones death over another. Because he could dribble a basketball and entertained us. He had money. Fame. Had it all. Inspires some kid to play basketball.

Then there’s you.

Probably good at what you do. Nice person. Impacts 5-6 people if you’re lucky. But you mentor kids on weekends. Volunteer your time. Help your neighbor when you can. Goes to church. Looks after the family.

Weird stuff.

World views that guy as more important than you. The Lord doesn’t though.

Not me, not to any greater extent than any of the hundreds of other accidental deaths in this country every day.

It hasn't been discussed at my house at all. Nobody follows the NBA, though.

It's a huge tragedy for his family, and I feel for them, but I didn't know the guy. Goes in the category as Dale Earnhardt, Stevie Ray Vaughn, whatever.

Even casual fans know who he is.

Dude had well documented infidelities well after Colorado and his wife had filed for divorce nearly a decade after the questionable rape. I respect him as a basketball player but not as a husband.

Im not crying or anything, but it sucks that he's gone. I grew up watching him close to his age have my own kids in the same age range, and im a staunch conservative

I didn’t say I didn’t know who he was, I said it just hasn’t come up. Probably won’t.

Basically, he sucked as a person but he could dribble and shoot a basketball better than most so he got a pass. I agree with that.

This is one of those events that will cause people to remember where they were when they heard the news in the years to come.

I was taking a nap and got a text that woke me up. It was a shock but I won’t remember when or where I was.

9/11 was a different and much more memorable occurrence.

I don't watch the NBA and don't ever remember watching a full game in the past. His death has no impact on my life and it is no more important than someone passing away where I work or live. I don't like or enjoy the death of a person but I don't put them on a pedestal and worship them as a god like the media tries to do.
