What is your hypothesis for the conservative decline in the suburbs.

At least that's the media premise. These house districts that flipped to D are due to the shift in suburb voting patterns along with some re-redistricting. What is the cause of the burbs trending blue (besides redistricting)?

1. Too many women watching The View?
2. Soy beginning to take it's toll in suburban America?
3. Too many college educated suburban voters with non-STEM degrees?
4. Victimology spreading its tentacles from the urban areas?

If this premise is true (and I see no reason to discredit it) why do you believe the suburbs are trending more D?

19th A is the number one culprit.

Inaction on Obamacare left a major void for Dems to exploit.

Costs aren't slowing down and Republicans/Trump couldn't get a repeal and replace bill passed. Dems turned that into a fear that preexisting condition coverage would go away.

Growth in minority voters by far, and to a lesser extent a christian conservative movement that has isolated a lot of moderate voters.

I wouldn't look to one election for a pattern. Clearly the Democrats spent a lot of money on this election in an effort to create a mandate. While Dems did win the House, they did so by a very narrow margin. Let's wait until 2020 to see if the suburbs go blue again. If they do...then we'll talk about the decline of conservative suburbia.

I guess the media can sway 2-3% of the electorate through persistent gas lighting. In an evenly divided country that 2-3% goes a long way.

The 24/7 news media and social media bashing of Trump, non-stop, is having an effect on suburban women. They are the most sensitive to emotional swings and they consume a ton of media.

Rural women DGAF.

I guess President Trump did not sell the fact that he is against nixing preexisting coverage enough.

On a side note, allowing people to be insured with preexisting conditions simply shifted the finical burden from the emergency room hospitals to the insurance companies.

I know that I'll get destroyed for this, by I do think Trump hurt himself there. But also remember, that Dem gains pale when compared to what the GOP did with Obama.

These people don't like mess. And Trump is a mess. He needs to be more selective in his trolling.

Maybe TD/Poli Board could offer a Master Class.

The party that represents most conservatives is represented by a poor President. That’s why.

The propaganda outlets constructed a narrative about this, and they're trying hard to make it real.

I know about a handful of suburban areas in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Georgia, and they're all bright red.
