quote:Both Canada and Mexico are extremely dependant on the US. Yet, they've taken the relationship for granted. They've assumed unilateral goodwill on the part of the US as a US obligation, and have become increasingly noncompliant regarding US asks under auspices of "independence." It's a much more encompassing issue than just fentanyl, or immigration.
Please help this novice out.

To MAGA, duh. These, and the rest of the world, take advantage of us, because we let them. All that has done is create hatred towards us and our core values. Hatred towards the Christian Western values our foundation is built on.
He wants to kill forever Globalism. This is a start to weed that out of these nations. As for CAN this could be helpful to their Right PM candidate. Saying hell work with us to get it figured out in a way Trudeau can't. Etc etc. This needs to be done with Europe too. Get them to change course and stop destroying itself or we are out. We can't financially support nations that are purposely allowing themselves to be taken over by islam. We'll be fighting them in a few decades, so why trust them now.
MX has Chyna all up in it, and that needs to stop.

The big issue with Mexico is their southern border. The US border is very large and easy for migrants to sneak across. But they enter Mexico from the south where the border with central America is very small. It would be easy for Mexico to stop the flow. But they don't feel like it. We're making them feel like it.

Fair trade. He talks about it a lot.

Canada spends 1.3 percent of GDP on their military/defense.
I wonder why they are able to spend so little with no fear of being attacked?

Is it just me or does anyone else think that this coupled with deportations will make the demand for (lumber, oil) from Canada go down and keep prices the same even with their own tariffs?
Also just think of all the less food we will need to stock on store shelf if we deport a large number of illegals forcing downward pressure on prices.

Fentanyl production stopped would almost be enough by the allowance of Mexican to aide in the mass invasion into the country is just as important. Canada is a whole separate issue altogether

Some people think the nation can live on part time DoorDash gigs and that bullshite white collar cube world will survive AI. We’ve turned our economy into an inflated shell and Trump is trying to mitigate the inevitable collapse.
There's likely more truth here^^^ than most Americans are willing to admit or accept.

quote:our current trade deal is Trumps trade deal. The USMCA. The "globalist economic policy ... trying to tank the US" that he has to "neutralize" was his idea, he proposed it at G20, he negotiated it, he signed it in 2020.
New trade deals
But fine, whatever, what specifically would you like changed?
How are we being taken advantage of?
You have absolutely no idea do you?

As I posted, the military dependency is legitimate criticism.

1. Secure borders
2. Economic growth for our sectors that Canada hammers with tariffs.
That’s a good start.

If I go to Walmart and my bill is $150 because I am an American … and the person behind me in line with the exact same items and their bill is $15 because he is Canadian
Would you consider that fair?

We all wanted tariffs, but these make absolutely no sense. All Trump just did was hand China the global market again. Giving China a 10% tariff while Mexico and Canada a 25% tariff works out well for Xi Jinping. Mexico has become a large manufacturing and trading threat to China, so they're definitely celebrating this move in Beijing. To make matters worse, China is the one that supplies the global black market with precursors needed to manufacture drugs. Whoever adviced Trump to do this is a jackass. Where does he think the cartel gets their supplies from? Walmart????

Mexican manufacturing should be increasing, which would help the US deal with China in a trade war and also reduce the need for Mexicans to find work in the US.
The US Border Patrol would prefer that Mexico have a better economy.
