The marsh and bayous of south Louisiana. I could provide for myself, family and many friends pretty comfortably.

You are hard pressed to find a better economy in the US (and the world) than Texas.

Doesn't do you much good when the dollar collapses.

12 miles north of Clinton La, we already have compound with many weapons (including a couple of 50 cals and 30 cal machine guns) and many guns and ammunition .
We also have a buried bunker with camo vents. Night vision instruments and food and water that could last along time. This will be for bout 75 people. Two of my brothers live on the few hundred acres already.
Hope there is never a need ,but we are ready as best we can be. Were always adding things.
We have a shooting range and where you actually do the shooting is a c-can buried into hill . It had to be certified for the 50&30. You should see those 50 Calibers scream down range a couple miles. We might last, but if that ever happen it will be truly the strong(and prepared) that will survive.

I am looking at places in Central America (Guatemala, Nicaragua, etc).

Appalachian mountians would be an ideal spot. I hope the hell I am not in Hawaii anymore when the collapse happens.

I'd think the Pacific NW or Canada would be a good place to live during this hypothetical.
Would not want to be in Houston or Louisiana, due to marauders and people consumed by road rage.

I'm going with Jennifer Aniston's vagina, for the win.

As far from human beings as possible.

I'm talking collapse of the USA. Zombie talk would be done on the OT. My neighborhood already has a wall around it that could be fortified for defense. We have 3 entrances and could block two off if necessary.
You would be dead in hours.

Northern S.E. Alaska.
Little to no road access, blocked from much of BC by several large ice fields, plenty of water, fish, game, wild berries. Hundreds of islands, mild winters, cool summers. It's the size of Florida with only 70,000 people.

I was thinking about the Appalachians, but I just don't think that the sources of protein are as plentiful as south Louisiana. With hardly any work you can have all the fish, shrimp, oysters, crabs, etc. you could possibly eat.
SPF is right about hurricanes though You'd just have to GTFO when a major storm is approaching and hope that there is not much damage when you return.

IDK. That would depend on how bad the collapse was.
