They just started cutting in September. There is no way that they admit that they were completely wrong again and start raising rates. Now they might hold off on more cuts for the near term but there is no way that "inflation is transitory" Powell is going to reverse course in less than 4 months.

Rates need to be raised.

We had them too low for too long.

Then, the government decides to spend like drunken sailors in combination with that.

I commented on this about a week ago. Interest rates were lowered to help Kamala and reckless. The fed waited too late to raise rates also. Rates should be about 12% in my opinion

Fiscal discipline
beat me to it.

If the gov't would do it's job, Fed wouldn't have to raise rates and everybody wins.

I just flipped over to MSNBC and they were discussing this. Clearly, he'll have them all arrested. Put into re-education camps and install fellow Stormtroopers. Problem solved.

Yellen raised rates 3 times his first 6 months in office trying to cripple the economy that had no inflation concerns in 2016. I put nothing past these hacks, Powell already trial ballooned he may have to adjust police based on the tariffs Biden continued.

A one month data point is NOT a trend.

We are in between a rock and hard place. Raise rates and further stress a weakening economy or lower them and see inflation start going back up. The aforementioned solution is to cut back on government spending immediately and signficantly.

They’re the ones who’ve been reducing the rates, so if they change course, Trump has more ammo to ask for them to step aside. They’ve either been doing it right in lowering the rates ( debatable but probably premature ) or lowered them for political reasons (undeniable) ..

What would you advise him to do in that situation? What is there to actually "do" in the first place?

Maybe not go forward with his inflationary policies. Maybe.
