Nothing except the possibility of dragging us into another conflict

We never need to be defended. No nation can put troops in the CONUS.

What did we gain in 2014 by orchestrating a coup Ukraine to put in a pro US/EU govt, and then late last year we basically say to Ukraine it is up to you if you want to join NATO, while Putin had 100,000 troops on the border?
We are doing the same thing here in my opinion. We are isolating Russia further by drawing all of Europe closer to the US and NATO. THis also will put these countries in a tight spot with Russia who is supplying them oil & gas & electricity in many cases.
Is it the US trying to get them to break off from dependence on Russia and look to the US? IDK.
I really do not see the benefit to the US except it forces us to defend pretty much all of Europe and probably gets defense industries more business and possibly oil, gas, and electricity more business.

You understand that money paid “to NATO” is not actually paid to the other nations right?
The members fund their own militaries. The 2% requirement is a spending commitment, not “dues”.
In the case of Sweden and Finland, both already have substantial militaries and very capable domestic defense industries. They don’t need US money or weapons.

NATO is the military force for globalists. They will keep expanding across the world during globalization. It has nothing to do with Russia

The Nuland/Kagan/Kagan/Kristol/Frum/McFaul crew are completely nuts. I think the plan was to break Russia and China. I don't understand why Europe is committing economic suicide to go along with this. It's interesting that NBC was showing some China wargames the other day. I wonder if there is a pivot to China since the Russia plan doesn't seem to be working.

I don't know why we would need to encourage it. Isn't what Russia is doing to Ukraine encouragement enough?

The Fins didn't want this. They've had a neutrality agreement and positive relationship with Russia for decades. Putin got ahead of his skis and is paying the price.
Today the Finnish Parliament voted 188 for, 8 against and 4 abstained to join NATO. The Fins went from less than half supporting NATO membership to 76%.

We gain more mouths to feed. Cause none of these Euro cucks pull their own weight.

I’m talking about the money the US spends in arming NATO nations when they are attacked
Posted on 5/17/22 at 9:07 am to Revelator
So to be clear, you are talking about the collective $0.00 that the US has spent in such situations?
No NATO member has ever been attacked and evoked article 5*. WE are the only member to invoke the collective defense obligations.
* The UK didn’t ask for help in the Falklands and neither did Greece/Turkey during the spat over Cyprus.

1. It is not “dues.” It is total military spending.
2. It is not mandatory or a part of the NATO treaty. It was a “goal.”
3. Finland and Sweden would be two of eight NATO countries that meet that goal.

That's also where I figured you were going. You're being hypertechnical (which I am also guilty of often), but I guarantee you'd be the first to bitch about other countries not pulling their weight.

They are seeking to join NATO because Putin is the top salesman for NATO. Both had over 60% of the public against joining NATO which because of Putin flipped.
This is nothing to do with the US urging them. In fact, Finland had has purchased a lot of military equipment from the USA beforehand.
Your premise is proven invalid
