243. This would be 244, assuming another half dozen or so don't make it through before it. 243 in just over a year.

Combine that with the first term and we sit at 463.

Actually I said I'm not comfortable with a president having unilateral power over elections.

Did you skip that part?

I hope that's what it is. Pass the SAVE act, have voter ID, and then have it so a president can't just suspend the ID requirement by an EO.

Because any other reason to have this EO is a complete waste of time and gives ammo to the dems.

This is my thought process as well. Could be looking ahead knowing the foregone conclusion, but establishing legal precedent with the Highest Court.

If that's not the move, then this is just retarded.

And Chinese components in electronic voting systems...systems with proprietary software.

Why would we want private companies with proprietary software and questionable ownership counting our votes?

Would you want President Gavin Newsom to have control over elections?

They already do in the states and they cheated right? Leftist governors pushed fraud into the 2020 election in their states. State's changed their election laws without those laws being passed by state congresses.

They did whatever they wanted to.

Agreed. It may be just wishful thinking on my part. Even if that’s not the goal it will be the end state regardless.

He really does not. Regulating elections is expressly the province of the legislative branch as spelled out in Article 1 of the Constitution.

Gee... like the first part of my post where I said

I wish Congress would do this.

What is your beef with anything I said? I wish Congress would take it on AND I'm not comfortable with a president having such powers.

Chalking this up to being BS (hopefully), but I bet the melt on Reddit right now is next level. This is the best fear porn they could ever imagine.

It’s the WaPost and based on leaks from groups outside the White House. People should probably wait for an actual Executive Order before melting down, but they won’t.

I fricking hate this. Why don't we pass the SAVE act and protect our elections the right way?

Because the president and conservatives in congress are incapable of governing the correct way

It was the Trump admin that originally floated this possibility. This isn't the first mention of an EO with this purpose.
