We're 10 weeks From the Mid-Term General Election. What's Your Prediction For Congress?

Painful.
Even if has prices drop very soon.
The problem is that Dems are fired up, especially the Socialists and at the same time Republicans are apathetic at best.
A recipe for disaster.
This is the truth, regardless of your opinions.

I think it will be close:

Senate: 50/50

223 - Democrats

212 GOP

I think the Democrats could go higher if MAGA voters stay home because Trump is not on the ballot. If Trump can't get some sort of end to the Iran War, the GOP losses could be heavier.

Trump needs to keep saying things like higher prices are a small sacrifice for Iran to really rally voters.

Strong chance we lose both because of Trumps fumbled broken campaign promises and his move away from MAGA and became a neocon

Keep the Senate but more narrowly.

Lose the House.

I don't see any engaged voters on either side being swayed by anything that's happened since '24.

Dems still hate Trump. Most on the right still either like him or tolerate him as the lesser of two evils. And the left has only deviated further form American norms. So I think any losses of votes on the right will be offset by the left scaring away centrists who won't go full commie.

I think that will make this election more dependent on structural advantages in terms of what specific seats are open in what districts. (Yes, I know all midterms are, but I think more so for this one.)

All that said, I think the GOP maintains slim majorities in both houses. Mainly because the dems are too politically inept to get out of their own way.

The Left is going to be extremely motivated. The Right is splintered and morale is low.

My prediction: We’re in big trouble even with the new districts that were formed.

The only hope that I’m holding on to at this point is that even with the low morale and infighting on the Right is that people recognize what the Democrat Socalists are bringing with them and that gets their asses to vote for the Republican… even if they have to hold their noses to do it. But I think there has been so much damage done this year that they will just check out entirely.

Trump did a great job expanding the party but he brought along a lot of disillusioned Dems and that played a role in how he swung districts that went to Obama just a few years earlier. My fear has always been that they either go back to their natural political home or that they check out. That might be this year. Culture wars are secondary to cost of living and the health of the economy. The DSA doesn’t really have any answers and will only usher in an era of further destruction but at this point they aren’t in power and the voters I’m talking about above may very well give them a chance to see what happens if they’re in power. Or they sit it out and that still damages the republicans more than it will the Dems.

If the Dems hadn't gone DSA, they get everything they want but somehow by our own dumb luck, they did and there now won't be a red wave.
