Well there it is... Blinken: Ukraine will become NATO member

The big question here: does NATO believe it strongly enough to admit Ukraine while they are still under attack (thus causing NATO to declare war on Russia 1 second after Ukraine joins NATO)?

Good. We should have never made them give up their nukes but this is a decent plan B. Completely box in Russia and isolate them and they will be a Chinese satellite state in 20 years.

Would be interesting to know what true self interests they are completely vested in preserving at any costs.
It would be nice to believe that this was all about “Ukrainian democracy” and protecting freedom, etc. but Western leadership has been exposed as liars so many times over these past years that they have earned every bit of the skepticism, distrust and mockery that comes their way.

If he was going to do that he would have done it when our HIMARs starting kicking his arse in that theater. He wants to hold onto power, and having NATO on the doorstep will let that happen.
Plus I don't actually think he can parking lot the world. Russia isn't the USSR, if what we see in Ukraine is an indicator of how well they have taken care of Soviet toys I bet half their nukes can't fly and the other half can be swatted down by our defense systems.
The problem isn't Putin, it is what happens after he dies. I want China to have to deal with that shite, not us. Pushing Russia into Asia politically is how we ensure it isn't our problem.

Sometimes I feel like I am on crack when "conservatives" can't understand the value of knocking out USSR weapon stockpiles for pennies on the dollar (or more importantly: via the blood of Ukrainians not our citizens).

I imagine it has to do with things like CIA black sites, virology labs (for things illegal to work on in the US) and fricktons of records about US politicians (from both parties) laundering money through there.
