Based on the Mexican American war, it would be a piece of cake. Before that, Texans courageously fought them by themselves to hold on to their homeland. Once the state was annexed, the full force of the American military came down and routed their generals one by one in succession and beat their puny pathetic nation back. Round 2 wouldn’t even be a fight.

Or we could just secure our border much more easily and cheaply. And pass effective domestic legislation that makes it near impossible for illegals to work and live in the United States if they do get across. Anything that's spilling over across our borders is a result of our own lack of political will and competence.
The notion of going to war with Mexico is rather insane. Not to mention if we don't have the political will and unity of purpose to take the above steps, then we certainly don't have it launch an unprovoked war against a neighbor who is a corrupt but nonaggressive state.

Your idiocy aside, war with Mexico is ridiculous. We do, however, need to work it out with them to either a) get their shite together and crush the cartels, or b) allow us to let the 101st airborne do it.

What we have to our south is a highly corrupt Third World shithole that is NOT our friend, not at all. They aid and abet a massive criminal organization shipping drugs and who knows what else across our border, and also openly assist illegals swarming in here.
The answer? Fortify and if necessary CLOSE that border. Shut it down and teach those bastards a lesson. We don't need them at all and we should be far past the point of having had enough of their abuse of us. We don't need to invade, build the wall and let them kill each other, in the meantime catch the bad ones that have gotten in here and dump then back on the other side of the border where they belong.

I have wondered this for a longtime. Wouldn’t it be better to have a partnership with Mexico like we do with Canada? A border wall is nothing more than a bandaid.

I feel like a war with Mexico would just end up like Afghanistan and Iraq, where we get rid of the government but then a bunch of bad groups are left in the vacuum fighting for power. Then we get left there fighting those groups for years.
Plus, an invasion of a sovereign country who is a member of many of the same international groups/bodies would be an issue.
