I do not understand how they can be exempt from a law that the SEC and DOJ enforces. It's insider trading and what should happen is the SEC say to heck with your congressional rules, this is a federal law and start indicting these people. Make them expose themselves in defense of some congressional exemption and watch it all blow up in the face.
Force a prosecution that end up going all the way to SCOTUS where congressional exemption to laws get ruled as illegal. Start blowing up all congressional exemption to laws they pass for everyone else.

The thing with that is you would have to mirror their trades in real time, at the worst within an hour or two. Their trades aren't public though at the time of execution.
If I am not mistaken, we only know about trades they make via disclosures that take place weeks, sometimes months later.

You see. If you’re using the same measure as the OP you would need to describe what committees they are in and the trades made pursuant to the info gained from that committee.
I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you weren’t using the same measure as the OP because that would make you really really dumb.

I’m asking you to substantiate whatever the claim is you are trying to make. You can’t seem to do that. Apparently, to you, it is rocket surgery.
