Sure. I bet it made them feel morally superior too. Dumbasses love to laugh at people actually trying to fix problems.

But really how smart was that?

Their economy is dependent on the strait for oil.

We are fine leaving the strait closed. That is not the problem we are trying to solve. Were trying to fix a 47 year old terrorist with nukes problem.

FWIW, Iran still says it will respond militarily to any American attempt to open the Strait.

Two missiles hit US Navy ship near Strait of Hormuz, forcing it to turn back - report
The ship reportedly turned back after being hit.

Two missiles launched by the Iranian Navy hit a United States Navy frigate, IRGC-aligned Fars News Agency reported on Monday afternoon, citing local sources.

The ship reportedly turned back after being hit.

The report further noted that the missiles had been launched after the US "violated security protocols for transit and navigation near Jask with the intent to pass through the Strait of Hormuz."

This would warrant its own thread, if it were true. It's being reported by the IRGC, so take it for what it's worth (which is something around the value of nothing).

United States Navy frigate

That would be incredible news, considering we don’t have any frigates.

Reported by the IRGC. I heard it on CNBC. Markets dropped on the news. JP was just the first link of a litany to pop up.
