Okayyyyyy; do the shipping insurance companies also commit to the opening the Strait ? Cause if not, this is a nothing burger for Trump

I don't think Centcom would do that. Has the military made any "aspirational" statements before?
You’re trying to argue with the dumbest motherfrickers on the planet, they’re googling right now to find out what CENTCOM means

Well, that answers that

I agree that that is the sticking point. I suspect that Trump will have to up our insurance offer.

Whatever happened to the "international fleet" that the EU was assembling to do that after the last announcement?
Not sure, but it’s certainly not their obligation to fix a problem we unilaterally created so I’m not worried about what they’re doing.
If you want partners, be a good partner. Spend every breath telling them to GFY, expect nothing in return.

Just in time for the Monday morning markets opening

He's tried bringing them in with carrot and stick, and they still sit on their hands. Gloves are about to come off, we are going to fix this shite with the help of our Mid-East partners, and the Euros are going to end up scrambling on how to find a way to pay for all the free shite they dole out to their citizens after we turn off the spigot to American-taxpayer money.
They are having a council about it

Except it’s really not a game.
This was all supposed to be unnecessary since we bombed them and destroyed their nuclear capabilities last year.
Were we lied to about our effectiveness in the bombing last year?

My uneducated opinion is that Trump hoped this would be like Venezuela: take out the leader and deal with a compliant replacement.
When that turned out not to be true, they knew that it would take more resources to secure the Strait...hence the ceasefire to allow time for sufficient assets to be deployed.
If the Strait isn't opened this week, I will agree with you.

As of today, Iran was sending radio commands to ships to risk being “targeted” of they tried to pass through

The question is whether or not we can eliminate that risk. The tougher question is how to convince the insurers that the risk is actually eliminated.

I believe the US Navy is committed to protecting maritime trade.

Not their obligation, for sure.
In their interests? Also for sure.
They have more of a vested interest to open the strait than we do, seeing as how they neglected their energy security for the past 15 years.

Which is why an "international consensus" with those cucked countries would never work.
Ripping the bandaid off is something pussies can never do.

So I guess this means we're setting up a sort of protected corridor for non-Iranian flagged ships to pass through? Our destroyers and air assets will cover the corridor from missile and boat attacks while commerical ships pass through, and we are guaranteeing protection to the insurance companies "or their money back" or something
Posted on 5/3/26 at 9:44 pm to RazorBroncs
I think it means we have a route for tankers free of mines and if Iran sends speedboats American air assets will sink them. If Iran launches missiles or drones we will knock them down and obliterate the launching site.
Some may get through. One percent has been the average.

The Iranians will try to hit some of them Monday if I had to bet. The strait is really their only bargaining chip.
This is when the rubber hits the road.

If Maxwell AFB closed tomorrow, Montgomery would be an even bigger shithole than it is now. Imagine if we closed those giant bases in Germany and England. I can't even start to imagine the economic impact they bring to the local economy,
