The term Watergate, by metonymy, has come to encompass an array of clandestine and often illegal activities undertaken by members of the Nixon administration. Those activities included such "dirty tricks" as bugging the offices of political opponents and people of whom Nixon or his officials were suspicious. Nixon and his close aides also ordered investigations of activist groups and political figures, using the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The scandal led to the discovery of multiple abuses of power by members of the Nixon administration, an impeachment process against the president that led to articles of impeachment,[2] and the resignation of Nixon. The scandal also resulted in the indictment of 69 people, with trials or pleas resulting in 48 being found guilty, many of whom were top Nixon officials.[3]

With what is being discovered and the different crimes or scandals being investigated, I think this will be worse. At the end of all there will be more than 69 people indicted.

Perhaps this will be big enough that it will spark its own name and we can stop with the annoying -gate after everything.

Watergate was perpetrated by former FBI and intelligence agents.
The Dirty Democrat Scandalactive FBI, intelligence agents, and mislead FISA courts.

Watergate and it’s perpetrators were ruthlessly attacked by MSM.
MSM is ruthlessly protecting the Democrat perpetrators.

Republicans didn’t believe assertions until evidence collect. Then they felt shame.
Democrats believed assertions, so have prevented evidence collection, and never feel shame.

Just a reminder that a young attorney named Hillary Rodham worked on the watergate investigation.

It’s been proven Hillary and the DNC paid for and used a fake dossier that was created with the help of foreign governments to spy their opponent. It’s just a different way to break in and probably worse than what was done in Watergate.

What’s sad is that the MSM kees trying to compare Trump to Nixon and accuse him of colluding with the Russians. When all of the facts look like Hilary and the Dems were the ones who should be compared to Nixon and have been colluding with the Russians.

Alright let’s slow down a bit. This isn’t anything close to Watergate. I believe the draining of the swamp may have affected your critical thinking skills.

Seriously this is like a 2 or 3 to watergate being a 10.

Coming from someone that doesn't know much about Watergate, why do you believe that this is a 2 or 3? What was worse about Watergate?

This should have brought down a former one. This is worse than Watergate because at least during Watergate, the Press was actually willing to investigate corruption in the FBI, the IRS, the CIA and the White House.

The vilification of the people who have bothered to investigate it as "conspiracy theorists" and "Tin Foil Hat" wearers and "Deplorables" by the former administration and the press itself is even worse, than even worse than Watergate.

If there were justice left in the US, this matter should bring down a former president, after he's out of office, a former Attorney General, after she is out of office, a former Presidential Candidate, and a political party.

The Democrats should be ashamed of what they have wrought. But sadly, it appears that they cannot feel shame.

So far this is right. May I remind everyone Watergate involved the President of the United States, the Attorney General, and the White House Chief of Staff and that is just the adult table. You need more than the memo to get anything close to that level here. The only big scalp in the memo is Comey. To get Watergate level you have to give the public indisputable proof that this goes up to Obama, Lynch, Jarrett, Holder, etc. level.

It's one thing to know it does. It's another to prove, and display in such a way that even fairly diehard liberals have to accept the fact that it goes up to that level. As of now this is on a par with standard bureaucratic government abuse of power/lack of oversight type of scandal. You need a stringer full of bigger fish to get up to Watergate level.

And even now there is the possibility that the dossier stuff was corroborated via Woods procedures and it was all on the up and up.

And god forbid if there are some wiretaps or foreign ally intel in that FISA app. Then it really gets fun
