It's just that now we are paying closer attention.

It went into hyperdrive when they bought up all the local media companies a few decades ago.

The brainwashing wasn't as effective when people got their news from their locally owned media company.

Not so much corrupt and criminal back then. The major theme that existed and still exists today is 'I'm for the working man. My opponent is for the rich man.'
The spin was that rich people do not work. They got their money from their rich dad.

The contradiction, however, is that a rich background was admired by society back then, not hated. I read a fascinating piece about 20 years ago that reprinted typical wedding announcements from the NYT during the year 1900 and compared them to announcements in 2000.
The 1900 text was about 'The bride's grandmother is a descendant of President Millard Fillmore. The groom's grandfather was US ambassador to Great Britain in 1835.'
Today's announcements are about 'The bride is a graduate of Penn State and is now employed by Microsoft. The groom is currently in medical school at Emory Univ.'

It was worse. They’re just more exposed and easier to identify now.

No, because it was a lot smaller and individuals took responsibility for decisions.

We've reached India levels of government where there are so many people that no one is responsible and siphoning off payments to family, friends and yourself under another name is too easy.

I remember seeing Robert McNamara (Sec Def) at the airport, unaccompanied by minions, about to get on the plane. (Vietnam war was happening.) Now we see Senators accompanied by six minions going every where asif the minions were their pretorian guards.

Enough consolidated power and control has been secured that this evil is brazen in their exercise of its full measure.

The rise and fall of such hubris has occurred throughout history.

The backlash wave will consume both good and evil.

The major difference is the DOJ and MSM are running cover for corrupt Democrats .

True. The size of the bureaucracy is vastly larger today than it was 70 years ago. It comes from political laziness.

'Congressman Clyde, what are you gonna do about problem X???

Clyde: 'I am gonna propose to Congress that we create a 'Bureau to solve X!'

They certainly weren't this brazen about it. They at least outwardly aspired to be statesmen, comport themselves with dignity and gravitas.

combination of largest federal bureaucracy ever, most interlocked federal government-big business relationship, most propaganda driven MSM & same interests of the 2 main political parties (their wealth & power over individual rights & freedoms) >>> voila

My eyes were opened to it when Rush Limbaugh started broadcasting in BR. I always knew Louisiana politicians were corrupt but Rush talked about similar behavior by politicians across the country and he did a good job of connecting movements like environmentalism, no nukes, etc to politics.

The explosion of data sources like Open Secrets have exposed a lot of dirty laundry, too.

This krap started when Washington was president. Hamilton and Jefferson feuded between each other. It got to the point that Jefferson resigned as Sec. of State.

Couldn't help but LOL'ed at that. Pretty much sums it up.

Someone needs to create a cartoon out of this. Slow frog boil to outright Satanism.

You’re correct, one side fights to keep it smaller but it still grows while the other intentionally makes it a big as they can. That’s why the government is so slanted towards the left now. Only one side wins in this type of push and pull and we’re seeing the results of it now.
