Are they saying this is why they justified the raid and we don’t know if he actually had anything or that they knew he actually did have nuclear documents?

The first one is just an excuse and could make the DOJ/FBI look real bad if false.

They need to release the affidavit.

They can say the documents they were looking for were about whatever they want.

I wouldn’t doubt that Trump has documents on nuclear weapons. In fact I’d say all Presidents since Truman (barring Kennedy for obvious reasons) took documents from the White House on our nuclear arsenal. But this is the best they could come up with? They were hoping to find something damning, but they didn’t find dick.

If this were true, I suspect Garland would have mentioned it earlier in his press conference.

There is zero reason to not mention it during the press conference.



There is also difference between “looking for” and “found”.
