Meanwhile I'm not signing a contract after 13 yrs because my leg injuries are catching up and I'm tired of being in pain every time I run. I file a claim and the VA denies it. Not that I'd get even close to 100% but the point is I can't run anymore like I could when I first joined.

You can retire in the fire service at 25 years also, not 100% but can start withdrawing at 25. I did 30.

My brothers step son just retired as a recruiter. He got all the local guys paperwork squared away before they retired so they claim everything they can from any conflict they were ‘involved’ in. He maxes them all out.
He was a recruiter for 25 years and is drawing a hundred grand a year and not even 50 years old. He just knew all the boxes to check.
Hes laying floors and painting when he’s not traveling.

Over half of SpecOps guys have a permanent injury considered crippling to one degree or another when they separate from the service.

Any military service member is entitled to the full backing of the US government. A lot of you are bitching. The recruiting office was open to each and everyone of you.

Maybe he was a Career Counselor 79S, usually at BDE or higher, but there is NO WAY he was a recruiter for that long, usually 3 year assignment. The 42T MOS wasnt even available until 2023 I think.

Even though this may be true, it doesn't mean that there's not people scamming, there certainly are. I think most of it is the younger/newer enlistees racking their medical profile. Your Gulf War and Vietnam guys don't/didn't even know that Veterans had potential benefits available after service due to injury or mental illness. That had a lot to do with the way the VA determined eligibility before, say, 2018. I think that's when the PACT Act was passed...?
When I got out I went with a guy a served with to see a VA rep (I got out JAN 2015). He had a jacked up soldier due to an IED that flipped his vehicle on its side. The VA rep basically told him he didn't have a case. He eventually tried again in 2017 and ended up with 40% disability rating. It was harder then that it is now.
Now they have specialist that know how to work the system, find one and you'll get a rating much higher than the typical 10% for tinnutis. I don't know how they do it, but I know a guy that served in the Navy for 4 years and didn't serve in a combat role, also didn't get injured during a training exercise. He hired a guy last year (one of these "specialists"), and 4 months later had an 80% rating. I have no idea how they pulled that off because he didn't have anything in his military jacket that would back up any claim that he made, which is a requirement.
