I havent researched the smart TV surveillance issues, are these tvs any different than all the others that monitor you and take your data back to the manufacturer?

Any time I see a fat middle aged person doing a selfie video, I assume everything they are saying is completely wrong

It's called re-branding.

They purchased Vizio.

Compare the Walmart name television to the Vizio, and the exact same television costs less to rid the stock of the Vizio name.

this is 100% true by the way. Parents bought this TV and ti had to add a Walmart account before they could use the TV. There was no way to by pass it. Some BS

If you have an Alexa or a cell phone, they are listening to everything you say, even when you are not speaking to them.

I would not be in the least surprised to find out that our smart TVs and our automobiles are doing the same.

There might be something to this

I got an email from Samsung this past week, telling me how to turn off their tracking system

Did your samsung require a subscription and was there no way to turn off the tracking system previously?...litigation en route?

The subscription was required at set-up (free)

I think they just wanted to clarify that there was a way to turn it off, before they got swept up with the Walmart madness

Just purchased a couple of cheap Hisense Roku TVs for the office. Need a Roku account to set up. I'm sure they're tracking viewing history so they can target advertise.

There needs to be strict laws passed about all this data mining and invasion of privacy.

Can the TV also give me a handjob if I click the correct button on the remote?

Don't use the built in smart features. Never give the TV your wifi password. Blacklist it from your router if you have to.
