I feel like I'm getting effed by Trump at this point but if Mexico gives it back to pay for the wall I will put his picture on my wall.
Illegal immigration (the majority of which consists of Mexicans and Central Americans) has been on the decline for quite a while, despite what’s implied by the right-wing media. I’m all for better border security, but not to an extreme level. If people really want to get in, they will (wall or no wall), especially given that new technologies will likely make it easier from a purely physical standpoint. We should instead devote money to so many other more important thing that will impact our future.

I think the idea is for those countries to take care of their own people so they won't need to come here. We all know that isn't gonna happen though.
The real solution is eliminate the need for them to come here illegally instead of building a wall

Absolutely.

Eliminate entitlements
Punish businesses who hire them
Liberals don’t want to touch the former and chamber of commerce beholden Republicans don’t want to do the latter

Some left wing sites have video demonstrations how people can get over any wall. The athletes who do it are very fit.
But Mexico is the most obese nation in the world.

Well then there is never going to be a second term.

I really believe Trump is well aware of the fact he'll not be re-elected, or possibly even finish his first term. He doesn't have the political support for The Wall now, so a Bandaid approach through foreign aid is the only viable solution.

So America leads the world in fatness. What does that have to do with The Wall?

I'm tired of moving the fricking goalposts on this issue. If the wall is completely off the table, the die hards on this board can continue to suck Trump off, but I'm out in supporting him on this issue.
He's been great in many other areas but this is one of the things we can't afford to just keep ignoring. This is a monumental broken promise if Trump doesn't find a way to fund a physical barrier.

This will cost him re-election in my opinion.

But not obstruction of justice, not being co-conspirator with Cohen, not co-conspirator with Putin.
Ok.

My question is what happened to the trillion dollar infrastructure campaign promise
Fear of Mexicans/ immigrants much more politically advantageous to Trump than the crumbling infrastructure he promised to upgrade.

Trump can’t claim to be the master deal maker if there is no wall in 2020.

Ah, you can't read.
MEXICO leads the world in fatness. They're trying to climb over the wall.

It would be hilarious if trump secretly made a deal with Mexico to send aid money in return they pay for the wall
