We tried telling the MAGA Christian Boomers, who were and arw the absolute worst this go around. We were tired of being lied to, we are tired of other generations fricking our future up for us. The young voters is what runs both parties. But at the end of the day we are just dumb podcaster listeners that know nothing. I drove 5 hours round trip (young Republican) I voted red up and down like every time before. But us voters aren’t even mad about this beat down. Because we can all sit back and point to the other mfers that were saying “no way we lose midterms” and say we told you so.

No, but they do have the experience of trusting Republicans to make things better and being abandoned for a war in Iran they had no desire for.

The big DSA boogeyman act isn’t going to land on that demographic.

This is a gay answer.

We stop the war in Iran today, is affordability markedly changed?

1. Stop repeating 1910s and 20s tariff policy

2. Stop fricking around in the Middle East

Good two starter points. The U.S. economy is so strong and such a machine that simply not breaking it is a good first step.

Need to do something about the cost of housing after that that doesn’t involve 50 year mortgages. Probably going to have to expand the interest rate tax deduction somehow.

And what exactly is the other option? Business as usual with policies that obviously aren’t working? Keep digging your head in the sand.

At the end of the day people want their tax dollars to work for them. We can have a debate on exact policies that make that possible. But one thing is for sure people are tired of money being wasted on unnecessary shite like wars, foreign aid, and watching government year after year waste more and more and grow the debt higher and higher. People also don’t appreciate being told to stfu and just accept that everything is great, shite sucks.

I agree with this.

What amount of the affordability crisis is due to tariffs?

This should be the primary audience that the GOP speaks to for the next 2-6 years.

I mean, look at the average age of people in Congress. They are still pandering to aging Boomers

Not shut down DOGE
actually build a wall
Address voter fraud
Not go to war with Iran
Not brush off corruption in the Epstein class
Drain the swamp
Not shut down the country and print trillions leading to immense inflation over the flu
Not push a vaccine that didn’t work

Basically just do what Trump said he was going to do in 2015

The word you are looking for is “lied”.

They were lied to.

Almost none of that is about affordability.

It does go to Trump’s typical lack of execution, which I think was a huge part in the defeat last night.

But not really the point of the thread.

Yeah don’t import a bunch of Indians and call people racist when they call it out. End all immigration until people here are taken care of. Cut all overseas aid. Stop funding wars people don’t want.

Out of control government spending combined with Trump’s COVID policies killed the value of the dollar. Trump’s actions in 2020 followed by him balking on DOGE only to follow with the Big Beautiful Bill are DIRECT causes of our inflation
