As for lumping every Islamist attack under “the left,” that’s not how serious researchers classify political violence. They separate left-wing, right-wing, and religious terrorism because they’re different ideologies.

Lets say, hypothetically of course, Islam had embedded itself firmly into the left or right, and that there was an overwhelming amount of reality of embracing and inviting it in, to the point of purposely elevating it socially and politically, because acknowledging any detrimental impacts of doing so would be the most egregious of evil sins possible.
