Since you know all this, does that make you a pro?
No, it makes me someone who can apply common sense to what he's seeing in the video. I don't know why this seems so difficult for some of you. Dude hit the Starbucks before killing his target. It appears his first shot was in the victim's leg. His setup doesn't work. He leaves witnesses and brass. None of that says "pro" to me. Disagree if you want.

I agree.
The brass had messages inscribed on them.
He wanted them to be found.
This was a delivery of a social/political message.

Let’s see what a dude with more confirmed kills than can be counted has to say:
Shrek “this dude is not a pro”
Shrek “this dude is not a pro”

Message on the shells points to passion rather than professional. But he seems pretty calm for this to be his first rodeo.

He left brass with words written on it, which means he left it intentionally.
Witnesses won't matter that much if he is masked. He could have even been wearing prosthetics under his hood. And you're not going to shoot someone in Manhattan without witnesses. It's virtually impossible.

Brass had messages on it, so don't think he cared. It's also on video. If there are no fingerprints or traceability on the brass, who cares. There's plenty of other evidence.
As far as not working, subsonic ammo will not work in many guns. The load is reduced to not break the sound barrier. Not always enough power to cycle a slide. He did not look like he panicked when that happened. He knew exactly how to clear the rounds. I mean, he didn't look like an operator doing it, but he was experienced enough. Not saying he was a pro or anything, but he thought it out and didn't panic.

Probably, but unfired rounds certainly weren't intentional. They are from having to rack the slide several times because his rig didn't work.

If this guy isn't a Professional Killer, he may have missed his true calling. His meticulous planning was something out of a Jason Bourne novel.

Whomever is responsible for this "hit" is an amateur. I personally believe the shooter is a disgruntled client seeking retribution for a family member done wrong by the insurance company.

Agree, but I think it probably points to someone who was screwed over by this guy or his company.

Racking the slide is something you learn within a few minutes of shooting your first semi-auto pistol. It's a natural reaction to the gun not firing when you pull the trigger. I have no doubt that the killer planned this for a while, I just think a professional would have a rig that worked.

An amateur who walked into a Starbucks, bought a coffee exposing half his face, locates target, waits, executes with the easiness of Sunday morning, then walks off never rushed or distracted.
36 hours later, nothing.
Yeah, total amateur.

Agreed here. No way it's the VP9.
Simply for the question of "Why?"
Why would somebody use such a specialty piece, hard to come by, and easy to distinguish with LEO for a PUBLIC hit?

According to CBS News, police believe the murder weapon is a B&T Station SIX-9, which comes equipped with a sound-suppressor and retails for around $2,100.
