Very large apartment complexes being built in or near suburban/rural areas
Posted by burger bearcat

Has anyone else been noticing an uptick in very large apartment complexes being built around or near near traditional suburban and rural areas. Like 500-1000+ unit complexes going up in areas, you wouldn't think there would be that much of a demand for apartments. States I have been noticing (Tennessee, KY, OH, IN, Alabama, NC), but I'm sure it's more. My area has a bunch of them popping up, which seems more than normal without researching the data.
Who is moving into all of these? It almost seems unnatural for there to be this much demand in areas that have had small to moderate growth the past hundred years.

They built a massive complex on the outskirts of Little Rock next to a neighborhood of 700k homes. They wanted to build another but the people were pissed and fought it.

Democrats plan is to bring the city to you and ruin the suburbs. It started under Obama. DFW was the test center. They’ve throughly ruined the suburbs.
People think the suburbs have gone hard to the Democrats because of Trump. Not even the case. The trend started after 2008 when Obama moved the city out to the suburbs.

With a Section 8 voucher, those who would normally not live in certain apartments can now live anywhere. Thanks Obama…

This has always been the Left's goal but it has accelerated recently though.
These are modern day "projects" and they are stuffing them next to middle class neighborhoods across the country, especially the south and midwest.
Once one of the complexes go up near your neighborhood, the property values start to fall.
I have lived through it. It sucks ass. It becomes a race with your neighbors who can sell and get out first.

It’s also the reason the Chicago crime has spread. They moved at least some of the housing projects from the inner city around the Chicago area. The article I read described how the project drug dealers went from only being a certain part of Chicago to all around the city and brought the violent crime with them.

People move to suburbs for great schools and low crime. When it gets to a certain point the apartments come and that is the beginning of the end.
A story as old as time.

It's part of the process.
People move out, build nice houses.
Brand new, really nice school gets built.
Off the chart scores and satisfaction.
Massive apartment complex is built nearby, or gets "zoned in" to the school.
School drops in quality almost immediately.
Private school enrollment surges.
Rinse, repeat.
We moved to a suburb and picked a home specifically for the great elementary school, but our kid was an infant. By the time he was ready for Kindergarten, the school had been re-zoned and "multi family" housing had surged. Kindergarten class had 11 different dialects. It was now the most transient school in the entire system. Thank allah for open enrollment, we moved the kid to a better school.

Trump warned us of that at his campaign rallies.
Oh, he was right. Again.

The reason is nefarious.
The developers finance the campaign s of city counsel men. Then after they have the votes they allow this shite to happen. Sometimes in direct violation of local zoning laws. The councilmen get kickbacks from the developers
If everything goes according to plan.
I suspect that the developers are also being greased by soros for the same reasons that soros finances the campaigns of district attorneys around the country.

That’s pretty much all that’s being built in the KC metro…..huge apartment complexes either with mixed retail or near retail, restaurants and bars…oh and dog parks. There’s single resident homes being built but the average starting price is upper $300k to low $400’s and there’s not a lot of inventory. This trend started after the financial/real estate meltdown of 2008/2009 and has really accelerated over the past 6-7 years.
