That’s pretty much all that’s being built in the KC metro…..huge apartment complexes either with mixed retail or near retail, restaurants and bars…oh and dog parks. There’s single resident homes being built but the average starting price is upper $300k to low $400’s and there’s not a lot of inventory. This trend started after the financial/real threat meltdown of 2008/2009 and has really accelerated over the past 6-7 years.
And what's the rent in those apartments. I guarantee you it's high enough to match the incomes of the area.

Democrats plan is to burn the city down and ruin the suburbs. Democrats are cancer.

Worse, they sincerely believe they're good people.

I don’t think Groomers believe they’re good people, they simply believe conservative Christians are the people who make them look bad and they don’t like it one bit.

This is no accident. One of the reason is for agitation. Sort of like kicking over an ant hill.

ETA:

Think St Jean apartments - It's located off of South Harrell's Ferry. They accomplished nothing other than running down that entire intersection. Now the convenience store is like a 3rd world gas station you would see in Mexico or Mogadishu.

They’re going up everywhere on the outskirts of Germantown and Collierville where I live. The Kroger we go to is completely overcrowded and the crowd is noticeably different

Lots of valid groups mentioned but what many are not considering is that twenty somethings and thirty somethings that would have bought a house by now have been priced out of the market. Houses that cost $60k in the 90's sell for $250k today when they should be $135k if they followed inflation.

Institutional real estate investment companies have been actively buying hundreds of thousands if not millions of residential homes over the past 12 years. They took cheap money thanks to ZIRP and bought a shite load of houses….now street level Americans are feeling the effects of inflated property prices due to cheap money courtesy the Federal Reserve.

I would guess most of the apartments in the core of KC are $1500 for a studio ( 600-700 sq ft) and over $2k for a two bedroom, two bath. I would think the typical income in the KC downtown area working for a decent company would be $75k-$125k for entry level positions.

Apartments and shitty short-use house developments that will ultimately end up low-rent residential property.

Still need to watch that one.

My understanding is that it is basically The Raid - Redemption but with Judges instead of a SWAT team in Indonesia.

Sorry but we're all going to have to fight Section 8

I know most "conservatives" hate the idea of actually having to do something but there's no choice.

Use a multi prong attack against the Section 8 Landlords and tenants

First you must organize with your neighbors and community. Get everyone involved and prepare for a long and hard campaign

Whenever a tenant has a party, parks illegally, has an unkempt lawn, is loud etc call the proper authorities. Let nothing slide, no matter how insignificant. If there is an HOA have them fine the owner for every little thing and tack on huge late fees. Also change HOA laws to not allow rentals unless the owner lived in the home for at least 2 years prior.

Get with your local municipal authorities and mandate that all apartments be gated and have a minimum of four off duty cops moonlighting as security 24/7. They need 4 on duty for the first 80 units and an additional cop every 10 units after that.

Mandate fire sprinklers in all sect 8 houses and apartments.

Encourage the residents to refuse to pay rent and give them info about their rights and how to enforce them.

The condos will be nice for 10 years or so then they'll go Section 8. It's the Dems' socially engineered mixed race neighborhood utopia fantasy.

But Obama and Biden will still be living in exclusive all white neighborhoods. No condos by their places.

I’m trying to be nice, but are you mentally handicapped? No one can get permits to build apartments anymore unless they allow “mixed income” (aka Section 8) residents. The new projects don’t look like the old projects, but they’re being built all over the country. And so far, to the best of my knowledge, they’ve all failed.

Have to get involved at the local level. Our entire zip code here in TN just implemented a 5 acre per house zoning requirement to slow down growth. You have to live around like minded individuals, this melting pot experiment is boiling over and a bunch of people are going to get burned.

It’s a combination of things.

-All these Illegal Immigrants have to go somewhere.
-City cores are becoming so expensive people can’t afford the property taxes or the high costs of services to live in cities so they are selling and moving out to the suburbs where it is cheaper. That’s been happening here in Atlanta for almost 20 years now.

No. Most of them are deemed ‘affordable’ or ‘workforce’ housing and half the units are available to people who make 30% of the area median income. It’s a way to bring poors to your doorstep. Sounds great doesn’t it?

These apartment complexes are nice at first. They’ll be filled with young professionals and a fairly good resident base.

But all apartment complexes have life cycles.

They’ll be out amenitied by another complex in a few years. It’ll start to age, and by ten years it’ll be in a clear downward trend.

Repairs and upkeep go downhill, security and safety will start to get suspect, etc.

It’s just how apartment complexes work.
