They're oath bound not to.

This will never happen. I wonder why they're trying to force the issue... Hmm.

Exactly...because it starts there and when other freedoms are usurped all you have left is a life not worth living.

Want to know why this dumbass, State Rep. Donald McEachin, is such a moron?

He's black.

What was one of the most important landmark moments of the Civil Rights movement?

President Kennedy federalizing the Alabama National Guard when Gov. George Wallace called them out to prevent black students from registering at the University of Alabama.

The fact that a black state legislator doesn't even know this is downright comical.

Maybe he should have them enforce drug laws too.

Yeah, that'll work.

Round up illegal aliens while they are out there.

I can assure you sir, that all Virginians outside of Fairfax, Loudon and Richmond counties are true Americans.

There is no Richmond county. Richmond is in Henrico county.

That would be the Reserves. The Guard works for the President and the Governor.

Oath of enlistment at MEPS is the same. They do serve the governor but “support and defend the Constitution” is line one.

Interesting turn of events if true.

LINK

quote:

The Governor of Virginia has allegedly ordered a small cadre of staffers to begin the process for determining how to cut off electricity, telephones/ FAXES, Cellular phones AND DATA, as well as the Internet, in areas where he plans to send Virginia National Guard Troops to forcibly seize guns when the Democrat legislature convenes in January!

The order was allegedly given to a very small and trusted group of staffers, some of whom it turns out, do not agree (at all) with this idea.

Now let’s really keep it real. The NG aviation units regularly score higher eval and readiness than active duty units due to funding and soldier to aircraft ratios.

Probably because the NG aviation units are practically the active duty aviation units. The Air National Guard is the same way. Their pilots are top notch.

Cutting off utilities to about 80% of the state? This will go over well.

Northam graduated from VMI but he doesn’t appear to have learned much from there.

He surely isn't that dumb. That would be worse than trying to take guns.

You are talking a planned extermination of elderly people who have to have utilities or die.

You would hope he isn’t that dumb.

I don’t think he gives a shite because state term limits mean he can’t run for Governor again in a few years.

Yes, but aren't they required to disobey orders that would go against what is right, like the Constitution. Seems like in a scenario such as this where there is a direct contradiction between the feds, the Constitution, and the state law, that soldiers would be bound to upholding the Constitution.

Most would do as they’re told. That’s what soldiers do.

Soldiers don't have to obey an unlawful order. Any order that violates constitutional rights of citizens is an unlawful order.

Could they not actually be charged with a crime if they did such a thing as this. As a soldier is your duty not more to following your Constitution and protecting citizens, than it is to following some orders. Haven't some Nazi soldiers and many others been charged with war crimes of which they followed their orders. Simply doing something because you were ordered to do it doesn't make it not criminal.

Va Gov considers nationalizing the National Guard

Uh, yeah the VA Governor cannot "nationalize" the National Guard... He can activate them under State Active Duty but he cannot "nationalize" them...
