You realize that guys do crazy shite like this on EVERY long deployment.

We had a guy hang himself on Med/IO/PG tour (250 people on board). Another went crazy, slinging shite at people.

Now compare that to a Carrier.

It has a MUCH larger crew.

Stuff happens.

It’s not an easy task.

Some guys just aren’t up for it.

I can't help but to think if you jumped off the deck of a US aircraft carrier you'd smack the water like a bug on a windshield.
I guess they might go awol while in port.

200 + days on the water is a looooong time without putting in to port and the Abraham Lincoln has been out to sea for about 250 days having begun its deployment on November 21 , 2025. Navy typically only allows 60-90 days before a ship is to be put into port to allow for maintenance and allow for replenishment and to give the sailors some relief.

I’ve seen mothers saying their kids are fine and they have steak and lobster. We can play this game all day. Again you prefer the anonymous sources and buy the shock and awe headlines.

Is this the one that was out of a long extended deployment and the laundry room caught fire and they had to bring it in for repairs?

Are you saying that it didn’t happen?

And the US Navy has not heard from concerned families?

Are you saying you have exact details of the investigations? Because if the navy has heard about it there are investigations. Let’s see the facts instead of you and bunk cry about propaganda news outlets.

Agreed. It is common for an extended deployment to run out of the good food as the officers mess eats steak and lobster. The rations are nothing like the boomers that died for this country in WW2.

Last week it was morale, now Krassasstein is aggregating sailors jumping..

It was covered last week and SecWar answered to this. Extensions of Med cruises happen...

A few in the fleet are due for the shipyards which is normal maintenance and will get leave. Whoever is leaking via UK papers should go to captains mast immediately. But I doubt anyone is jumping ship.

Not really. They’ve been breaking records with these carrier deployments.

Silent generation and Boomers did and went through some shite. Theses younger generations are soft, no way to sugar coat it.

Even Gen X with the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns were in deeper crap than what is going on now.

There probably are very liberal mothers with kids there that are probably ignored by their kids who then make shite up. Bunk loves to eat that shite up.

What a clown show.

OIF in 2006-2007 extensions from a 12 month ground combat deployment to almost 16 months for worn the frick out heavy BCT and medium SBCT and units while currently deployed in theater.

Watch any documentary on "Aircraft Carrier Life" Boo fricking hoo.

Its like watching an Air Force vet claim 10 to 12 or more "deployments" and they all last about 4 months from movement to return to CONUS

LINK the george Washington carrier group is enroute to replace the Lincoln. You would think the navy would have learned a lesson about long deployments from the gerald ford.
