Meanwhile in TX we are having record rainfalls, while the west will have a hot and fiery summer.

It's amazing that we can put a rolling robot on Mars and a man on the moon but we can't find a way to cheaply remove salt from sea water. Just saying.

Oh I’m sure they have figured it out. Just not letting it be known or artificially keep the cost high. If they solve problems there isn’t an crisis to hold over our heads and siphon money from us.

The difference between 1956 and 2016 was ~10ft. 1083 ft all the way down to 1073 ft deep. "Epic" indeed.

How about the rate of immigration. What is the optimum Oh Wise One. Pray, tell us.

The market will answer that question. It always does.

I'm always amazed at this board. I've never been around so many 'free market' Republicans that were against free markets before. The Poli Board LOVES tariffs of any kind.

Different Boulder. Boulder Canyon is where they put the dam and Boulder City NV is the town that sprung up during construction.

What if the market says “until the nation collapses into Malthusian chaos”?

Believe it or not, the market doesn’t always have the best interests of the majority of its participants at heart. Especially in an oligarchy like the USA.

To some extent it is when your population's birth rate is below the replacement level. Not uncontrolled illegal immigration of course, but a steady influx of skilled and unskilled labor is needed to keep the economy growing.

People live around large and small bodies of water because of the obvious, people don’t live around deserts for the same reasons

Hey Fearless,

Some years ago the Nat Geo did an article on the Colorado and water usage. It showed a picture of the Colorado at the border long ago, lush and forested, now looks like a desert. In fact there is some legal agreement with the amount and quality of water that must cross the border so we had to put in a desal plant before discharging across the border.

A few years ago I saw a reporter standing in front of a friggin river flowing into the Pacific. He said they had plans for a retainer lake but cut the budget and one day they are gonna need this water....guess that day has come.

If there are avid golf fans here they will know what the Calif courses look like when hosting a televised tournament.
They look like shite. They're expensive to join but look like your local public course.
Why? Because they can't afford sufficient water.

Dubais is a desert but the King has the money to water the courses from desalinized water. They look great.

They're still trying to use that antiquated
"11(10.5) million illegals" nonsense, I see.

Okay Ill divert but a nice nice story about Sam Kinnison. When Rodney Dangerfield was dying Sam came to visit, Rodney had helped him, like so many others, with their big break in his bar.

Sam said to the wife its a shame that he wants to be left alone, a lot of the comedian crowd asks about him. She said quite the contrary, he did not want to be a pain. With that Sam set one man stand up routines in Rodney's hospital room for several several comedians, he said later Rodney went out like he would have wanted....he died laughing.

Sorry to divert, but a nice story.

Our nation is on an irreversible path to economic and environmental collapse, and our “leaders” - past and present - have doomed us.

Well, there’s only two explanations for this. Either our government is full of mostly incompetent fools or these government bureaucrats and politicians have become fabulously wealthy fricking America over….or both.
