Probably going to build some in Somaliland to control that new country and keep Ethiopia from building a port with Somaliland. Basically going to force another major war in either Eritrea or Somali .

Nothing we do from Somalia is going to do anything to stop the Houthi. And what are we going to do? Bombs them? Special forces raids? Drone strikes? They’re not afraid of us.

Which we, or someone else we fund will then undoubtedly bomb at some point in the near future.

Screw Somalia ! We lost too many solders there years ago.
This is the kind of crap that gets us involved in other countries for decades.

On paper, it seems like a waist of money, but if it keeps cargo ships from being taken hostage by pirates and brings stability among the horn of Africa, then it’s money well spent. We will see if it actually works.

From what I read a while back, we are pretty much being forced to do this to combat China’s influence in Africa. China for quite some time now has been providing infrastructure such as ports, railways and bases throughout Africa. The catch though is that if and when these countries default China retains the infrastructure.
Edit: China also controls and operates the infrastructure. So a port for example is manned and operated by the Chinese.

We also sent millions of dollars of new military equipment to Ecuador. In return they will send all of their older tanks and rockets to Ukraine. It's to get around Congressional approval for aid to Ukraine.
We will be sending a lot of new military equipment to random countries who will follow the same scheme to arm Ukraine.

The OT warmongers think this is a great idea. The bona fide "conservatives" over there think if you criticize this or Ilhan Omar you're a Putin bot.
