The personal behavior and employment qualifications of the homeless probably has a lot more to do with their homelessness .

We should line them up and then jump over them with a skateboard.

I'll never understand the ignorance of hating people who are down on their luck.
News flash... the chance of getting a job while homeless is about.001%
What would you like for them to do? Collect welfare and try to get back on their feet? Oh that's right, that would also make them a "piece of shite" right?

Good Christians would rather just round them up and shot them. What you are proposing is way to civilized for the GOP. They all dream of secession and war with all sorts of folks and everyone armed to the teeth......health care? Sick people can go get fricked if they ain’t got the money to get well......the hate that they have for themselves is manifested in the appearance of hate for others.....you really have to feel badly for them going through life, short as it is and as wonderful as it is with hate and anger

As evidenced by all those conservatives committing mass murder...oh wait, Steve Scalise is the victim not the perp, the Christians in the TX church also were the victims not the perp, the ANTIFA folks so kind, gentle, and loving with their swinging sticks and bike locks...

So you mean to tell me that giving the rich more money, corporations laying off mass amounts of people, and the cost of living skyrocketing, despite stagnant wages for over a decade, has NOTHING to do with it??? I'll never understand how you people get brainwashed into believing that giving multi-billion dollar corporations massive tax breaks will do anything for anyone but the already filthy rich. Lowes layed off over 50,000 MANAGERS this year alone, despite the tax breaks.
I'm a Republican and always have been, I just refuse to let Fox News decide my thought process.

I would much rather take the billions we spend on illegals, a year, and use that money to come up with a plan to help our homeless.

Depends on the situation of the individual.

Some are frauds, begging is a profession.

Those that might be able to be helped could get into a program and try better themselves, there are scores of programs for druggies and alcoholics, disabled and unemployables. Hundreds of non-profits exist for this purpose.

The reality is the vast majority of them on the street prefer street life to the best they could do for themselves.

Recognizing reality isn't hate.

Actually the tax revenues brought in by illegals far exceed the cost of services to them. Approx 75% of illegals pay taxes, just like you and I. They are just an easy political target. Saying that, I agree that we have an immigration problem, but there is plenty of data refuting the Republican party's claims of cost of illegals.

They might pay sales taxes but not many pay income taxes, and lots of them commit tax fraud by using illegal ID's. Less than 50% of citizens now pay income taxes and you are claiming 755 of illegals do. LOL

You are full of crap.

Illegals MUST use a stolen ID to pay fed/state income taxes. In stealing a citizen ID they also HARM the citizen taxpayer who is trying to abide legally and may be due a refund that is now inaccessible, thus stealing from the rightful owner of the ID. It also screws up the citizen on things like benefits calculations from medicare and SSI/SSD.

There goes that "law abiding illegal alien" theory out the window yet again.

It's stupid though, they give these people tickets they can't pay...and being a vagrant they don't show up to court.

Which is why the punishment should be a nightstick to the kneecap on the spot. If we did that, panhandling would end with the QUICKNESS.

Panhandling and homelessness have reached epidemic proportions almost everywhere. It's the same everywhere you go. It didn't used to be like this. What is to blame? Opioids? Terrible people? Gen X?

All of the above, plus people are discovering that you can make a decent amount of money that way.

Atlanta had an interesting idea. When I first moved here I was working night shift in the downtown area on Peachtree. The number of homeless was INSANE. It didn't matter what time of night it was, those fools were out and about asking for shite. My favorite way of dealing with them was to act insane. Like, literally, yell at the top of my lungs at them. I found this to be very effective

Anyway, Atlanta realized they had a problem in this area of the city, likely due to the number of out of town visitors staying in the area and giving money to these folks. The city put out little collection boxes with bolded signs asking you to put any money you'd like to donate to the homeless into the box instead of giving money directly to the beggars. I'm sure they had some other mechanism for moving people out, too, but within 6 months they'd done a pretty damn effective job of clearing them all out. Take away incentive and they'll move along.

That's an average of 1000 managers per state in four months. Excuse me for saying I don't believe you.

My standard reply to a beggar is: "If you knew how hard I work for my money you wouldn't be asking me for it."

I usually insert a brah or bro in there.
