We deal with the Iranian oil to China thing and yes, this might be completely worth it. Your grandkids won't ever even spark in a womb if we go to WW3. And that's damn near inevitable and will be decided by force. The US might as well get it over with and save both sides the losses by making it quick while the crowd is willing to finish it and take over for themselves. Give those people a chance.
Plus that China thing.

What I'm hearing is that we had a record-breaking deficit before and we overcame it. That's the insurmountable American spirit for you. We did it once, and we can do it again. No need to worry. History is on our side. A positive outlook is the first step to success.

This is a different America today than the one of 70 years ago. That "Insurmountable American Spirit" died a long time ago with most other traditional American values.

We aren't surmounting shite with the current American political and cultural climate.

How about this? Firing over 400,000 federal employees?
400,000 suddenly unemployed would tank the economy. Offer early retirement and then through attrition, slowly reach that number (if that's the right number because I don't know)

I watched a fascinating documentary the other day and it explained that if you took out all of the theft and fraud, America would be several hundred billion in the black. So what is Trump and his team trying to do? End all of the Fraud.

If Trump is suggesting that the Defense Budget, already larger than the next ten countries combined, be increased from 900B to 1400B (and he is), then he isn’t trying to end all the fraud.

Isn't that what Trump was trying to do w/ the early buyout offers

What needs done requires more than what Trump or any president can do. It would take a decade at the minimum to catch, gut and clean the fraud out of the public system. We already know some directions that fraud exists and that 50% of the population relies upon it as well as ignorance towards it. The problem is replacing the ignorance and systemic failures of fraudulent policies without losing the abilities of control in government structures overseeing the process of correcting. Much like an obese person dieting, shedding is doable but the moment you give up the weight comes back and generally more than original fat

Republicans only care about the debt when Democrats are in power.

And Democrats never care about the debt. Great point.

The part no one talks about is that the voters drive this because so much of the country has become addicted to government subsidy programs.

15 downvotes is exactly why our budget will forever be fricked.

You can’t fix the budget without trimming the fat from the pig. Around 3/5ths of the budget is strictly for entitlements and welfare programs.

Democrat programs.

Ones that will never be fully funded.

Ones the people have been lied to about.

And the single worst line item, social security, is a flat out Ponzi scheme that would put a private citizen in jail for life for running.

But but but but but beerjeep I’ve been paying INTO social security for decades I want MY money!!

Bitch you haven’t paid INTO shite. You have paid FOR old people and disabled people’s current care with the hope there will be enough new investors to cover your arse when it’s your turn to be the leech.

This is not the right time to start this thread. Wait a few more years, then the time might be right.

Ron, I believe you are correct. The debt has exploded under Trump and his party in both houses…

the bump in defense spending Trump wants.

Would still be less than the current interest payments on our democrat caused debt.

Did you know from 2020-2024 our debt increased the same amount as it did in over 220 years?
