So a discretionary act within the purview of a committee chairman regarding order of business?

Yes, hence, NOT a rule. If it was a rule, Grassley would not have the authority to unilaterally ignore it.
You see, words MEAN things in the Constitution.

Trump gonna have to get Blue Slip approval because Senate Republicans want to continue the tradition. So the story is over. Trump will not get fiery red USAttorneys into deep blue states.

Lololololololol
Do you not understand this is IT?
Filibuster, blue slips, ALL OF IT is gone if they get power again.

Perfect example of how emotional, fear-based politics pushes people to support bad things.

Bookmarked to check back on this in a few years.

I don't know how the Supreme Court will ultimately decide the issue, but these ruling have been by the book so far.
It seems that judge Cannon was correct in her Jack Smith ruling - ironic!

The Trump administration’s maneuvers
Gotta laugh at AP's terminology and victory lap citing appeals court DQ technicalities.
Did they forget all about 0bama-Biden regimes "maneuevers"? How else would we wind up with FUBAR court systems that allowed illegal Lawfare against conservatives and Republicans? Hijacked elections? Kenji Brown as a Supreme Court justice? DEI and Trans Library Readings to kids?
Where were the Conservative courts to DQ all of the above nonsense?

Yup. I thought her analysis was spot on.

This ruling has literally no overlap with that ruling.

Like killing people transporting cocaine to Trinidad because of some fear it is contaminated with "fentanyl."
Goes to show you that true believers can be manipulated into supporting any policy no matter how obviously wrong it may be.

Didn't Alito as a lower level judge uphold the statute?

Close. In 1986 Alito, when he was employed in the Office of Legal Counsel (he wasn't a judge then), wrote am advisory opinion saying that after 120 days the position could only be filled by the District Court...not by the Attorney General.
Clapping Seals and legal grifters aside, this outcome is standard according to the statutory scheme. There is absolutely an excellent argument to be made that those statutes are unconstitutional. Personally, I think they are. I hope the Supreme Court reverses on those grounds, but I don't think it's a slam dunk...especially since Alito didn't seemed concerned about the possible unconstitutionality...but then again, that was in 1986.

All of this BS is rooted in the fact Trump can't get a lot of his judges and prosecutor's confirmed and that is squarely on the backs of Senate Recucklicans who are doing their best to survive until Dims win the midterms and save their asses.........and Trump becomes a lame duck.

Communists will just do whatever the opposite of is Trump suggests or does. Case in point:
Trump announced Saturday that he may place a quarantine on New York due to its place as a coronavirus hotspot,
Within hours, Cuomo blasted the proposal in strong terms. 'If you start walling off areas all across the country it would just be totally bizarre, counter-productive, anti-American, anti-social,' said Cuomo in an interview with CNN on Saturday evening.
'This is a civil war kind of discussion,' Cuomo said of the proposal. 'I don't believe that any administration could be serious about physical lockdowns of states.'
Cuomo said that it would probably be illegal to quarantine New York, as well as totally ineffective, given the rise of other virus hotspots in the country such as New Orleans.

This can't be stressed enough. The process needs to be changed. The people express their will by electing the President. Irrespective of party, the President should get votes on all of his appointments within 3 months of their appointments.

lower court judge said in August Habba’s appointment was done with a “novel series of legal and personnel moves” and that she was not lawfully serving as U.S attorney for New Jersey.
That order said her actions since July could be invalidated, but he stayed the order pending appeal.
Precedence for undoing things like the Biden autopen issues and/or the entire Obama presidency.
I like it.
