Is this progressive side of the church, the one that has lesbian preachers?

The Pharisees themselves once thought they were heirs to all truths
They were.
quote:
until Christ showed them they weren’t.
Because they rejected Him and his new covenant.
No, they blinded themselves and those who look to them to the truth because they created traditions of men that made the word of God of no effect. Christ liberating people from the control of the religious order and their hold upon them was frightening to them. All religion does that, which is why they instill fear, obligation, and dependency upon them rather than preach the free grace that is found in Jesus. They have to keep you working for it, or else they lose control over you and your money, and then Jesus has control. It’s the same game being played today that was played then. Still adorning themselves in fine linens and people looking to them rather than the scriptures.

quote:
there are good reasons why the Protestant Reformation taught that the Scriptures are the only infallible rule for faith and life,
A doctrine that cannot even get off the ground, because scripture doesn’t tell us what constitutes scripture, nor does it tell us that it is the only infallible rule for faith and life. In other words, it (sola scriptura) fails its own test.
Also, I find it odd that prior to the invention of sola scripture 3/4 way through church history, there were basically 2 schisms leading to 3 churches (Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Oriental Orthodox). After the invention of sola scripture, you see the “churches” who adhere to it schism into thousands of “churches” in 1/4 the amount of time.

Catholics do not deny that our salvation is from Christ, and his grace is given freely.
Faith “alone” was added by Martin Luther and not found in the original greek. We can not earn our salvation it is freely given by God’s grace.

teachings of the Catholic Church: It teaches that we can do nothing to merit the grace that comes to us in baptism, which is the normal beginning of the Christian life. In fact, the Council of Trent condemned anyone who taught that we can save ourselves or who taught even that God helps us do what we could do for ourselves. The Church teaches that we can be saved only by God’s grace.

The people who left these churches should buy back the buildings and hire conservative staff for them.
My wife's family did something very similar in rural Minnesota (no where near Minneapolis / Saint Paul)
When the Lutheran Church dealt with this issue a number of years ago their small Hometown Church went with the ELCA. This was the "more liberal" division of the Lutherhan church.
So her family left their lifelong church because of this issue. They literally went and bought an abandoned church building about 30 Mi away, bought the building, moved it ( with Bibles in the pews, piano in place, etc) and it was set up on donated land from a farmer. They went and hired a pastor, joined the LCMC ( the more conservative division of the Lutheran Church). This probably occurred 15 or so years ago, their church is thriving, growing, and doing great!

I’ll just remind people there was a schism not long ago and most of the powerful and wealthy churches left to do their own thing without the woke crew and are thriving.
The ones that don’t often couldn’t afford to or their property or buildings were owned by the UMC.
The ones that could afford to pay off the national leadership did and left.
A lot of older populated couldn't/wouldn't and were just going to ride it out to the end. The end is here for 26 in Alabama.
The national leadership doesn't care about your local church. When your church reaches the end, they will sell that real estate for whatever it will bring. They are not attached to your family church or how many members they are losing.
The sale of that real estate might equal what the congregation would send to the national level over 20 years.
The proceeds from your church will further whatever leftist cause or salaries to further their mission, not Christ.

A pastor from my Baptist church in houston went to a Methodist church in Jackson, miss. I think they had bought their church back. They don't use the word Methodist anymore.

quote:The over 40,000 different denominations in America alone, many of which have vast chasms between their ideology, would like a word with you.
There is only one Church of Jesus Christ, not many.
quote:The exclusive Church are the remaining patriarchate majorities of the Orthodox church. Everything you said above nonsense. It's amazing how little protestants know about the one true Apostolic church.
the ones who claim to be the exclusive Church deny the gospel of salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone,
Growing up protestant, I never could stomach churches so full of such lukewarm Christians. One day of Easter, go to church on Sunday, let out, live like I'd been living because it didn't matter because no matter what I'm saved and that's what everyone else in the pews next to me was doing: it's why I fell into agnosticism and atheism. There's nothing edifying about it. The foundation was built on sand. My church now is built on The Rock. There's nothing about it that cleanses the soul, because it's a church built on Martin Luther and others, and from there it exploded into denominations so numerous that the end result has become mega churches full of non-denominational concerts with a pastor-centered message who sometimes drops down from the ceiling on cables with a laser show to really bring it home.
Not the Orthodox, nor the Catholic church believes what you said. What we do believe is that if you think you are going to be saved and baptized after your 1 month journey in the Holy Non-Denominational Church of Dallas featuring pastor Bob and his vast 30 year Apostolic succession, and then go out and live your faith without works or changes to your life and keep on living like those outside the church and be fine and dandy because you got saved at vacation Bible school that time when you were 12, that you might FAFO what Jesus meant when he said, "narrow is the gate."

quote:There's that protestant righteousness we all know and love, and why protestant churches everywhere are dying slow deaths or being consolidated into 10,000 seat arenas with a flying Santa Clause for the Christmas service.
Hi. I’m a retarded Catholic and I don’t know what words mean.
That attitude is incessant in protestant congregations. The constant presence of self-righteous legalism can only be explained by the fact that the building is full of people who think they can live however they please, without repentance or living the sacramental life, because it doesn't matter what they say or do: Pol Pot himself could, "confess" faith on his last dying breath and he's 100% good.
What he said is not a lie, you just don't like what you heard.
As far as Sola Scriptura and Sola Scriptura alone, that doesn't hold up so well when there was no scripture for the first 300 years of Christendom, and then when your church fathers strayed from the Church that Jesus built, you wind up with 100,000 denominations worldwide and growing by the week: don't like your pastor? Start a church. Don't like the service, the Eucharist, the band, Armenian or Calvinist, etc., etc., : start a new church. America is 248 years old, to put it into context: It's why Apostolic succession from the day of Pentecost and Holy church tradition is so important.

I’m sure the preprogrammed bots will be along soon to tell us this has nothing whatsoever to do with gender-identity nonsense yet simply reflects a general decline in church attendance.

I’m sure there is a little of this but the biggest thing is people in general just aren’t going to church anymore. And that’s not a trajectory that’s going to change

What really gets to me is that they accused conservative Christians of trying to throw them away back when they didnt have power.
It was always a scam

quote:Amen, Marcion Christianity free of the political rambling of the Nicene Political Convention and its perpetual lies to protect pedophiles, numbering in legions of victims
Methodists should come home to the church founded by Jesus Himself almost 2000 years ago.
Oh wait, these chicken shite treacherous MF's decided to remove their chaffe and any semblance of sense by declaring Marcion a heretic 125 years beyond his humanly demise
You do realize do you not that there were probably dozens of jewish preachers roaming around Palestine claiming Messiahhood
The Jesus trick came with the fabrication of the 3 days story and the 40 days story, and the 40 years story - all proven to be hooey
well lets just say there was much to be desired in the competition of whoppers
The answer clearly is not located in the vatican - though they have a great art and jewelry collection - dont know how much is being sent to their victims - always with victims
