Billionaires create a lot of jobs for people that otherwise wouldn’t have one.

The Government has plenty of money. You are a fool if you think giving the Government more of someone else's money is a better strategy than telling the Government is operate more efficiently, honestly, and wisely.

And they paid those taxes. If they move and create wealth elsewhere, those states will reap the benefits of the wealth they create there.
It also undercuts the "the wealthy don't pay their fair share" argument if people complain about them moving. I guess they were paying something...

Spoiler alert - Pretty much any homeowner in the state is considered a millionaire due to land values, even if they have no liquid cash.

“It’s only 100 people” perfectly sums up their mindset.
What if there was 100 people with a unique set of skills. Is it ok to enslave them in servitude to everyone else?

Arguably one of the most un-American sentences ever uttered. You don't deserve shite that someone else worked for.

Wealthy people staying in California are morons

They already got income tax off that wealth. But it ain’t enough for them.
Probably not. Billionaires get paid in stock and then borrow against that asset with very favorable rates. Since loans aren't considered income, there is no income tax owed and no capital gains tax until they sell the stock.

For example, Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle, has used his shares as collateral for personal loans, including a $10 billion credit line. This allowed him to fund major purchases—including his $300 million Hawaiian island—without selling shares or triggering taxes.

We could use some tax reform for billionaires but a 5% on wealth is most certainly not it.

The billionaires should just say they will raise prices on what ever they sell to pay the new tax, be explicit in saying that the poors will pay it.

billionaires who departed from California to avoid a proposed wealth tax were “ungrateful” and instead should figure out how to come up with the funds to pay it.
