Truer words will not be spoken in this thread. Nothing about the Russia-Ukraine War has been masterful. Not the multi-year run-up, Not the taunting of Russia nor the resulting invasion, Not the scuttled peactalks nor the aftermath.

Russia slowly overwhelming Ukraine in a WWI style slog is not remotely masterful.
Predictable? Yes
Inevitable? Probably.
Masterful? No.

The whole fiasco has been a collection of catastrophic blunders on all sides - NATO, Russia, Ukraine, the US & UK.

Over 200 billion dollars and Ukraine is out of ammo.

They stole that money instead of buying ammo and now they want more.

While that seems like a big advance considering how slow lines in this trench battle war, it has more to do with Ukraine falling back to their next defensive line.

Russia is taking the space between the new and old line.

On February 17, Kyiv had to abandon the town of Avdiïvka, in the northern suburbs of Donetsk, which until then had acted as a fortified bastion. “It was both the heart and the symbol of Ukrainian resistance in the Russian-speaking Donbass,” underlines a report on the “battle of Avdiïvka”, drawing a series of damning lessons. ... “The decision to withdraw by the Ukrainian armed forces was a surprise,” notes this latest report, emphasizing “its suddenness and unpreparedness,” raising fears that this choice was “more suffered than decided by the Ukrainian command,” evoking a possible beginning of “disbandment”.

You are laying the praise on a little thick aren’t you? It’s Russia versus fricking Ukraine. Lol.

But America's military and political leadership and entire media apparatus said it was Putin the madman that was entirely to blame.

quote:

Russia dwarfs Ukraine in every military, resource, and production metric. It was never going to end differently unless the world was willing to go to war.

But the entire Western political and military leadership, intelligence services, and media told their people everyday that Ukraine simply needs Western money and weaponry and they can defeat Russia. Every media report hailed the Ukrainian counteroffensive as progressing as planned until it had to be abandoned.

If it was never going to end differently without direct NATO military intervention, then the story clearly becomes the blatant lies and manipulations of the entire Western political classes and their smearing of any detractors and dissidents who dared to call into question both the wisdom of policy and the truthfulness of the narratives surrounding Western support for Ukraine.

Agreed. While I understand the reasons that motivated Putin doesn't mean I think he's a good guy, just means I don't believe the bullshite narrative out government spews thru MSM.
The motivations for our country becoming involved are far less reasonable than Putin's. America's meddling always ends badly for the places in which we meddle. See Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, the list goes on.....

Oh you mean the Joe Biden - Victoria Nuland - NATO Ukranian Proxy War? So reflect on this Biden groupies - deep within the Pentagon warmonger operations center they plot their Ukranian war strategy. A strategy which includes supplying Ukraine with outdated American weapons systems, with predictable results. Them high tech Russian drones are slicing through those supposedly impenetrable Abraham tanks like a hot knife through butter. Drones be the new weapon of choice Pentagon coneheads. Hello, anybody home?

So the unfolding scenario goes something like this - Ukraine continues to supply the bodies (which are nearly depleted), NATO and the USA supplies the weapons systems. To which the Ruskies respond by grinding them up like hamburger and scap iron. Meanwhile over in this corner, high-ranking Ukraine generals are busy buying up luxury real estate in Switzerland and on the French Riviera - courtesy the American taxpayer. War is hell.

Which leads us to the obvious question? How long after the democrats steal the 2024 Election and reinstall the dunce, will they call for reinstatment of the draft? Then proceed to ignore Congress and commit American boots (with some NATO troops sprinkled in the mix) to challenge the Russian bear on the blood stained ground of Mother Ukraine? Slava Ukraini.

All the while Joe Biden continues to babble and struggle to string together coherent sentences. All the while stalked by the Easter Bunny.

"Can I take some questions now? Yes? No?" - Creepy Joe Biden

*[update: Macron commits Fancois et al]*

details at 10......

Putin has successfully defeated the globalists from infiltrating his country. The guy just knows how to lead and doesn’t give a frick what the western world tries to do to bring him down.

at the expense of hundreds of billions of his own. Just the major surface ships and the awacs losses are staggering in a monetary sense. Also, Russia hasn't been able to build anything in their Navy larger than a Corvette since Soviet days. These large surface ships they are losing can't be replaced
