This will come as a surprise to the self-proclaimed geniuses who smugly say there's no such thing as Globalism.

Capitalism has always been global. It essentially came into being due to the opportunity for extracting resources out of the New World and bringing them to Europe. The Dutch East India Company innovated many of the key aspects of modern capitalism.

What people think of as globalism probably depends somewhat on the country but for Americans it is essentially the change towards becoming a consumption economy that is a net importer rather than a production and extraction economy that net exports. I imagine for the Brits it means “we lost our settler colonial empire that allowed us to cheaply import from abroad but within our imperial system rather than from other states.”

So the Globalist are throwing in the towel? Somebody please post the “That’s bait” Gif. The Globalist know that they have essentially changed the demographics in Western culture nations which have stood in the way of their Authoritarian ideology. Having accomplished massive immigration of polar culture immigrants they can now afford to wait for those demographic changes to stew via birth rates and the culture and ideology will then change accordingly.

I hope so, but his resume would suggest that it's a tactic. We shall see what happens.

Interesting development, though.

The point is when asked on here specifically the definitions of globalism vary greatly

No, they don't. It always comes back to authoritarianism and a handful of global elites ruling over the peasants.

What happens in reality is that people give you the same definition in different words, and you use that to pretend that "no one can define it." It's a really dumb game that you people try to play.

You will find the exact same situation if you asked people to define democracy, freedom, or conservatism. Everyone will have a different definition but it's not difficult to pick out the recurring themes.

Actually very smart strategy by Starmer. He knows he can’t win a trade war with Trump. UK is currently fighting with EU on trade issues and needs US markets. Why fight a war you can’t win? Starmer will be seen as the voice of reason now. He’ll be viewed favorably by Trump after this while Macron is going to get bitch slapped.

No, this is a feint. Starmer is about to stab Trump in the back. The UK is planning to create the CANZUK to combat U.S. tariffs. Basically, the UK and settler colonies will join a common market and negotiate jointly against both the U.S. AND the EU.

Doubt it.

This is either a strategic regrouping or a patient long game... whatever it is that 'they' want isn't going to be set aside, just delayed.

Uh...no.

The definition of globalism is something along the lines of: "The operation or planning of economic and/or foreign policy on a global basis."

Yours is a specifically rightist populist Illuminati—Global Elite—ChemTrail—The-Government-Controls-The-Weather—Filthy Joo—Deep State—Swamp Monster-Hillary Clinton-Is-A-Lizard-Alien—They've-Put-Microchips-In-All-Our-Necks—The-Truth-Is-Out-There definition.

The rest of the world outside the MAGA echo chamber doesn't understand the word "globalism" to have anything to do with authoritarianism and conspiracy theories and anyone "ruling over" anyone else.

I am as sure as I can be without actually being able to read minds that the UK PM doesn't understand the word that way.

The Brits I know who are freaking out as much as American libs over Trump aren't gonna like this. Should be interesting to see if Starmer actually says anything of substance.
